Ched's latest post has shown a possible change to the way faction perks work to help with the upcoming ranked waring. Some players have shown concern that this change may negatively impact some factions, particularly young ones who will lose their flexibility and more "specialist" ones (reviving, crimes etc) who will have to pick between war perks and specialist perks. This got me thinking and I came up with this rough idea.

This idea combines a solution to players' concerns with the use of faction families and war contracts. A new perks branch will allow factions to buy ally assist spots. When this faction goes to war, they can ask another faction leader to assist them in one of several categories [a few ideas are shown above] in return for some of the earned respect. Note that factions can use the same category for multiple slots. Larger factions can get extra support in the war and smaller (and specialist) factions have an alternative way to gain respect using their chosen play style. This would add more variety and strategy to warring, hopefully making it more popular.

I have tried to balance the ideas (assist attacks for example would be weaker than attacks from the waring faction to stop it being overpowered) but the image is just a rough draft to explain them. I'm more interested in what people think of the concept as a whole.

While I understand how this could have the potential to add more room for different strategies and 'setups', I also think it's going to be seen as a a way for factions to work their way around the latest changes to wars that's focused on minimising the effect outsiders can have on any given conflict.
I mean even if you manage to get enough upvotes, it's hard to imagine Ched going for something like this. Sorry

So I thought about this. The problem could be solved by having ranked wars as 2 different modes. 2 modes means twice the wars. The first would be cheds vision with no outside influence. The second would be ally mode which gives faction families and smaller factions a new way to play:
