This idea probably will not help many established higher level factions but I think it would benefit the smaller starting out factions.
We should add an Enhancer Armory just like we have Drug, Weapons, Armor, Temps, and Points. This would be an armory similar to Weapons and Armor where a faction can loan out anything on the Enhancer list...like Crime Enhancers and Suitcases. It would help smaller factions with newer users mostly but I think it would benefit greater Torn.
Like this idea. A large suitcase would have been a huge help to me in the early days of flying. 10m is alot, even now. Hopefully we can recycle the items too. Just ask the members to put them back when they can easily afford themselves or don't need them for crimes anymore.
I get the reasoning for sure. The expensive ones though aren’t really needed till later on in the game where you’d naturally have money for them. By the time you hit level 15 buying a large suitcase can still be very expensive yet by the time you need a windproof lighter you should have more than enough money.
I disagree, not enough to down vote but I feel that getting the enhancers is a good beginner 'quest'. I remember they seemed like daunting targets at the time(some) but it is a good primer for goal setting for newer players. Particularly in the early levels before players can fly to really start earning, it encourages players to research and problem solve while they are waiting to get out of hospital.
New players have no idea what they’re doing and part of a faction’s role is teaching new players about the game and how to succeed in it. Being able to issue each green leaf with a pair of glasses, high speed drive and mountain bike, with accompanying instructions on when to switch to each crime, will get new players a lot more into working their crimes and having goals in game than just the instructions. This benefits player, faction, and Torn.
Why do we think about getting crime enhancers as a solo quest sort of thing, when climbing the NNB is just as crucial for the faction as gaining stats or wall time or chaining? Since the faction benefits hugely from players being able to get their NNB up, the faction should be able to loan out crime enhancers in order to do that effectively.
2) and as to cost—a half-million mountain bike is a huge obstacle for a new player, just as combat armor is a huge obstacle for a new player, or a mediocre quality metal chucks or DBK.
And the faction should be able to loan crime enhancers in the same way it loans armor and weapons. There’s no logical reason we should have risk-free loans of armalites but not risk-free loans of suitcases and wind-proof lighters. Because again, crime success and growth is central to faction growth and success.
