Dealing with threats as a Company Director

I’m just curious - mostly due to that (kinda old) drama with the dude stealing 7 bil from faction vault - who happens to now be working in the Army.


Just how common is it, for Directors to be pressured into firing employees, due to grudges?


Would love to hear from any directors, and how they dealt with it.


Conversely - have any of you ever been on the other side, and pressured a director to give someone the boot? Or perhaps even bribed them?

No but I have pressured some employees to leave a guy company before.

To f**k him over. I don't even remember why I did it. End up paying noobs revive bills when my mood had changed lol. Just some bullshits I did when I got bored I guess.

If I were to pressure someone to kick someone in their company (and they have nothing to do with them other than being an employee/employer) I’d look for someone to replace them, as it would be unfair of me to screw over an unsuspecting party.

It's common for sure. I've been threatened and have threatened/bribed people to cut a guy loose. How to deal with them? Depends on how serious the threat/offer is. Always be selfish in this regard, do what is best for your company.

I hope BodyBagger took it in good spirits. Having an “NPC” hold a personal grudge against you is pretty legendary.

Just ignore them and do your own thing. I'm being bountied because I refuse to fire someone. My company profits over their petty grudge is how I see it.

i've "pressured" a few people into firing employees.

thing is, if you approach somebody and offer a reasonable solution that achieves your goal (employee is fired) along with their goal (company is staffed with solid workers), most people will choose to avoid drama. don't think it's ever gotten to a point where i had to even make a threat, much less act on it.

If someone scammed the wrong people, it's not worth the trouble of keeping them as an employee. If they scammed some noobs then you can probably ride it out and keep them around.

I've pressured a few directors into firing scammers. It doesn't take much for most directors to realize that it's not worth it.

I am central javanese person. We are naturally softest people in my country. Most of time after I try so hard to be asshole, I will start feeling remorse, pity you, and 50% chances are if you talk to me nicely I will end up paying your revive bill if i bounty you or return your money if I mug you. And if you try to argue with me, I probably just put you in ignore to avoid it. Irl I won't even use words like stupid or dumb to insult anyone lol.

I don't think I've ever kicked anyone due to external pressure, both in faction and in company. Then again, since we don't take scammers in the faction, and my companies are fairly boring, I've never invited that kind of attention.

We did take a reformed scammer once that someone tried to get me to kick, but they were truly reformed and never did anything wrong while they were in my faction. Didn't kick them, they contributed a lot.

One of my current members has an admirer that threatened me, but they did so with an anon mail... In other words, they ain't shit, and I'm not worried.

Unless there's a legitimate reason to kick someone (and for a company, I literally can't think of any) I'm not going to help you fight your battles.

I’ve been threatened, a lot of people don’t know what it’s like to run a succulent company. Shit happens and as a director your job is to make it work. When I got threatened, I told the fella if he could find me someone with the same work stats that would work for less money I’d fire the dude. Other times sticking up for 1 employee hurt my standing with another because it affected his pay day. Still made it work eventually.

One time I hired sir bling bling because his stats were good and I needed an employee and I didn't care much about his buying nudes drama, and I was asked pretty much immediately (within hours) to remove him by several people, because he dirty bombed MnC and didn't "deserve" to have a job.

Normally, I hate threats and would've kept him as an employee just for the sole reason of people asking me not to, but I had a ton of respect for those who asked me, so it was a no brainer.

It really comes down to what they did/ who they hurt. If they did something you wouldn't want done to you, like scamming or stealing, I think it's almost your duty as a torn citizen to contribute in the street justice required to deal with that person. There are plenty of other people to hire to fill their spot.

The only reason you wouldn't fire them is if you wanted the drama that follows with having them in the company, but that gets old very quickly. If people are asking you to kick someone cause of something silly, like they buy mugged someone, and they're threatening you, that's up to you to decide, I personally would hold my own and even go out of my way to protect them in a sense.

And no, I've never done the threatening bit, there's always someone somewhere who will refuse to fire them, and it's a waste of my breath to be the "do it or else" person, I don't have time for that.

I've given people a week to find someone new and paid them 5m for firing someone I didn't like.

The alternatives are never good

I've had someone cry to me that a staff member had mugged them for like 5mil, wanting me to fire them. I paid their boss 50 to fire them just to be a dick. I sent them the convo I had with their boss, who also said they was a whiney bitch, and just said welcome to torn.
