why when some people set trades does it not let me add money as the trade is locked?

that means either you or them have accepted the trade, intentionally or otherwise.
i assumed so, does it unlock itself or do i have cancel the trade and start again?
They can cancel back on their end out of the accept, then a second cancel drops the trade
