Kill someone. Do it again and again. There's a timer, don' let it drop to 0. Keep killing shit. everry so often theres a bonus, 10th hit, 100th, 1,000th, etc where you gain more respect.
1. faction sets a date and time for chain
2. there should be enough members who will participate
3. any attack done by any member will be counted in the chain
4. 10 kills should be attained by the team in the first 5 minutes to start the chain
5. after the 10 kills is attained, you can drag the chain, meaning, you can now wait before the 5 minute cooldown ends before attacking so others may also join in. Or in other words, prolonging the chain
As preparation, participants may take up to 4 xanax to increase their energy, thus making more attacks

Once a chain is established, each additional hit by anyone in your fac will increase the amount of respect for the next hit. Respect accumulates as the chain grows. Check fac chat before taking the bonus hits mentioned above by Butterfree.
Leave for max respect. Mug for less respect if you need money badly. Only hosp if you really want to be an ass to the person you defeated. Never hosp inactives as it increases the time before you or your fac mates can farm respect from that account.
Use chaining to work on leveling up and attacking merits. Don't let your natural e bar sit idle if you can prevent it. The increased respect from chains still apply during cooldown, so go ahead and dump your hits even if it breaks. +R (thumbs up) every useful response in this thread.

think of it like factions aren't free to join, you purchase your membership by providing energy for them
the better the faction you join, the more efficient they will require you to be with your payments.

While the mechanics of a chain is the same for every faction. The expectations and etiquette can differ greatly. This is a question you should probably ask your faction mates.
well, you can think of it like that once you are more established maybe and have all the attacking merits and levels you want. But for brand new players it's more like, "one of the extra benefits of being in a faction is that as long as you do your levelling targets and earn your attack-related merits during a time-period of their choosing, they will normally provide free xanax, points, and even prizes for you to do so".
You’ve gotten great answers already. I’ll drop you the Torn wiki link, because lots of good info there too. https://wiki.torn.com/wiki/Chain
