I was just beginning to get to know Silver. We "met" briefly as part of my joining the faction and I appreciated her clarity of expectation. From witnessing her leadership during a war, I saw and fully understand how amazing she was. She is a huge loss for all of her connections. Rest in peace.
I started to attempt to write this a few days ago and ended up editing it all out. I still don't really know what to say. I have talked to Silver near daily for years now. I had sent her messages every day while she was gone to read when she got back... and now she will never read them.
Twice in the last few days I have gone to ask her a question or get advice on something only to stop in my tracks and then just sit there numb realizing I can't.
Many nights in voice chat, thousands of mails, chats, and conversations as she helped lead both our current alliance as well as 39th back in the day. Anywhere she was in leadership, she was a cornerstone that everyone could rely on.
I do want to thank everyone who came out to the "Silver send off" where the plan was to have as many people as we could all attack her at midnight and just use party poppers (These do 0 damage and make the attack screen explode with fun colors) and then let the attack time out. I knew things would be hard and even the event would bring more emotions as we all try and process this in our own ways. But if you watched the video above you will see it did not go as planned, but was even more of a tribute to SIlver.
Someone early in the fight used a poison weapon on her, this now meant that every single popper that was supposed to do no damage, now proc'd a tic of damage, and there were a lot of people joining. I watched as more and more people poured into the fight and then fired off a party popper and her health got lower and lower. I started to get upset that this happened and the event was "ruined". But then it wasn't, she survived with just a sliver of health and ended up winning the entire fight and never lost. I think at that point is when I got extra choked up and then kinda lost it, even gone from us Silver in her own way was unstoppable.

It's been difficult coming up with the words to say anything meaningful and I guess I'm running out of time now.
I counted you a true friend Silv, coming from someone who never really had online friends and didn't believe you could ever get close to anyone solely online, but here we are. It's been an honour to serve under your leadership, your kindness and devotion to your team is an inspiration.
I've buried many friends and family over the years and always endeavoured to take on board the best parts of those I've lost, that way, you never truly lose them, and eventually maybe I'll be a functioning human being xD
I hope I can have as much time and energy for strangers and friends alike as you did, be as kind as you were, find as much humour in life as you did, and value my friends and family as much as you valued yours. My only regret is the missed time and conversations, and that Faction bbq we never had at your house :D
We've been in touch with the Family who heard about the thread and asked for an exported copy so they can read over the messages. I don't think they were prepared for 55 pages of A4 and a considerable donation though.

The Family knew Torn and Haka were a large part of Silver's life, I like to think they are realizing now that Silver was a large part of our lives too. To those who posted messages and added to the fund, thank you, we lost our leader and I'm not sure Haka can ever repay the community for the love shown. You can see it means a great deal to the Family, and that's the most important thing.

I've just said it to council, but I think what would truly have made Silver proud was the way that we have rallied together and shown that we are whanau, not just to each other, but to her RL family. Her family are honestly so grateful to everyone for all of the support we have given over the past 10 days or so, we have brought a ray of happiness into a tragic event in their lives. I'm an emotional wreck right now, but have just gotten off the phone to Silver's other half and they are so touched by the overwhelming support coming from our weird corner of the internet and proud to see how much Silver meant to all of us. I told Silver's partner that they married into the whanau, and are one of us. Please know that however shit you might be feeling right now, your messages and donations have made a huge difference to Silver's family, and will be cherished forever
we were in contact with the hospital she was in whilst sick, in contact with the hospital she passed away in and in touch with the family alongside this the entire time.

Rest In Peace, Silver. I'm forever grateful for your time spent on getting my ass in gear and pushing me to get my Torn life back in order. As well as being a phenomenal leader, you were absolutely hilarious and I always enjoyed your newsies. I seriously regret not talking to you more. Haka would be and will be incomplete without you.. Fly high, Silver.
Rest in peace, Silver. You were a great leader, and your departure was a great loss for Haka. I believe that all of us in Haka will remember you as a great leader in the history of Haka.
RIP Silver! My HAKA leader Once upon a time i was factionless after long long year inactive, i look for shelter in this rough torn environment. Then Silver came and offered me to be member of HAKA. She is cool and relaxed person, welcoming. Eventho I am trying hard to be close to her, unfortunately because of her position as Leader needs not to be bothered. So i just chat her during war time. She never ignore my message.
Condolence to her family, may you all be strong in path forward. She leaving us too soon. She will be remembered for her good deeds.
I posted a few times already, but I couldn't bring myself to say goodbye properly. It would make it real... and I so desperately wanted it to not be real.
When I first came back to torn a little over two years ago, I was giving things away, and had no plan to play. I never played torn seriously. Never trained, or joined a Faction. Just banked money and chatted. But then I seen an old face. Silver. She had just returned, too. We talked and it was like old times. I seen her start to get stronger and stronger, and it motivated me to try torn for real. The next few months, she would help guide me. And I learned so damn much from her. but I learned of her, too. How kind she was. Funny, endearing, loyal, and motivated. She had a drive like no one else I'd come across in torn. It wasn't just enough to make herself stronger, or even me and a few others. she wanted to help as many as she could.
I remember when she joined HAKA. And how fast she rose in rank. She truly became the heart and soul of HAKA. Torn won't ever be the same without you, Silver. I'll always remember what a bright, amazing person you were. Until we meet again on the other side, Friend...Auf Wiedersehen
