Never posted on the forums before but feel I have to to express how p*ssed I am with the game. Why have a laptop if cheddar is just gonna take option for buying stocks on it away, I can't travel and make money at all without some stalker with no life waiting for me to land to mug? How fair is that for new players? I have no chance of ever catching up with people who have played the game for years if at every point I try to make big bucks I get mugged inevitably by someone miles stronger than me. Just needed to get that off my chest lol.

There's a 15 second delay between landing and you being available to attack - that's an AGE to bank money in. Try being a bit quicker :)

You have 15 seconds when you land to do what you want and travel again.
It takes like 5 seconds max to do everything.
You can also self hosp when in Torn whenever you’re handling your money.

You can catch up with people who have been playing this game for ages.
There's plenty of people who have surpassed older people that have played this game much more earlier than them. Its called commiting to your goals and achieving them.

Given how laptops in Torn city are most likely running Window ME, it was only a matter of time before they become incompatible with modern websites such as the one introduced with the release of Stock 3.0. ;)
I don't see everyone else having the same problem. We all have the same rules, and Torn is based on survival of the fittest. And just like life, the ones that have been around long before you will always have a big advantage. Keep getting better or get run over.
But seriously I know I seem like a little brat but I feel after 3 years playing the game it's so shit that I have 15 seconds, if my connection is even the tiniest bit slow I'm f**ked.
I made video tutorial for travel while open bazaar. Check out in tutorial n guide. It was tested by few best muggers I know. Can be 100% safe not affected by lag, internet speed, or device if u follow step by step. Unless u hv shit luck having disconnect or changing internet connection.
If u only sell xanax contact people in top bazaars. They need xanaxes to resell n gain unique visitors. Just bargain properly.
If you sell plushies, check points traders like mania or deadringers. They don't mind buying high.

Here are some tips to avoid losing a lot overseas:
1- Never leave with your Bazaar open and a bunch of things for sale (10m+ in items value), someone will buy them eventually and you'll be targeted.
2- Never travel with more than 200k.
3- Set alarms before landing.
4- Don't travel during the night, stay in TORN.

Mugging's an important part of the game. Without mugging, there'd be no need for traders, no need to be careful with your money. It would be uncompetitive af
New players are the people least impacted by it tbh, mostly because they just don't lose any amount that can't be made back in a small time
As others said, there are mechanics in place to make it fair for all. Familiarise yourself with them, be careful while doing activities, and you'd be golden
Agree on the laptop though. Ched has mentioned he doesn't really see any use for laptops himself, and that he's considered removing them. (In proxima's suggestion thread to make pda/laptops more useful). Being able to trade stocks on the go would totally kill mugging, since stocks are pve now. So not an option.

Devs wanted to make travelling boring, but it already is, and this would not seriously effect the viability of travelling at all. You can already get fac/comp data from api. Its just the regular players who don't use api tools who're impacted.
