It had been three days since Orion had set sail from Torn City. This boat was carrying people from all over the world and was on her way to South Africa. This trip should have lasted two weeks, allowing tourists to enjoy a nice long vacation. However, on the third day, the sky darkened and the wind began to howl. In a few minutes, gigantic waves were rocking the boat, sending passengers and luggages from one side to the room to the other. It didn't take long for Orion to break. A defeaning sound indicated to all that this was the end. They were all going to drown. In all the comotion, only a few people heard the captain shout that an island had been spotted not long ago, a place where they could take refuge until they could find a way back home.
People got thrown in the water, some swimming for their life, others too panicked to register what was happening. A lightning bolt brightened the scene and allowed the passengers to catch sight of the promised island. All who still had some strength began swimming towards it.
When the sun rose the next morning, only a few people had managed to reach the land.
Hawkie opened her eyes. She didnt remember much from the night before, only that the boat had started rocking pretty dangerously. Then there was a loud crack and next thing she knew, she was surrounded by water, with thunder cracking abover her head.
From what she could see, she was now on a beach. There was a forrest of exotic trees facing her. She vaguely remembered someone yelling about an island the night before. She got on her feet and winced when pain shot through her wrist. She had probably fractured it when the boat broke down. She decided to go look around, see if other survivors had made it.
Mimi blinked her eyes open against the sunlight streaming in through the sopping wet palm fronds that covered her small body. Her pupils dilated into their usual cat-like form as she did a quick internal check.
She flexed her paws, moved her legs, flicked her ears and flipped her tail. Oo, tail got kinked, and one ear was torn a bit but didn't seem to be bleeding anymore. That done, she rolled over and got up, the palm fronds slipping from her body as she did so. She was in among the exotic trees, having been carried all the way up here by an exceptionally ambitious wave.
Her coat was a mess of snarls - salt water was not good for the fur. She sat back on her haunches and was just about to set in to give herself a good cleaning when she saw movement. Someone else was on the beach.
With a resigned sigh, she got to all fours and padded out to greet the newcomer, sticking to the shadows for now until she could surmise whether they were friendly or hostile.
Bob was relaxing in the ship, just taking s break from his mad rants of madness when ideas popped up in his head. He wanted the most relaxing and uneventful vacation possible. That plan went completely off course (pun!).
When he woke up he was half in water, half in sand, his clothes torn and all he owned now on the bottom of the sea. He struggled to get up when he noticed a gash on his leg. That didn't look beautiful but it was manageable so maybe it was his head getting paranoid. He never did like to see blood.
Some people on the beach got his senses alert so he trotted to them.
Savannah couldn't believe her luck, managing to stow away on the Orion, a decision she'd grow to regret.
Savannah woke up to a lightening blast, she'd been sleeping under a lounge chair, she was abruptly sucked into the sea by a gigantic wave.
She managed to hold her breath, and came back up to the surface of the ocean gasping for air, eyes stinging with salt. She swims towards the island with all her might.
She crawls onto the sand, and makes her way to a tree and sits up against it. She scans the area for other survivors.

Max was amazed on how she'd been able to get a trip to South Africa for a holiday and potentially some ideas for her first book...
Waking up to the ship sinking I grabbed a bag with some possessions and managed to get on the last dingy before the ship finally fell into the sea. With the dingy, myself and a few others made it to the island. And found shelter from the rain. A camp was set up in the cave and the survivors went to sleep. When I woke up the flame was out and nobody else was there. I grabbed my bag and I changed into my favourite golden shirt and black jogging trousers.
"I... hello..." I yawn then I went out to see if the dingy was still on land but it wasn't anywhere along the shoreline. This left me confused.
"Damnit! Damnit... They left me... Goddamn!"
After a few hours of looking around I found another camp with a burning fire and a half built makeshift wooden house.
"Hello? Is anyone here?" I shout hoping someone would hear.
