I’m making this my last post as I don’t want to derail this thread further than I have already.

No, one person each shipping a brick isn’t good. It’s adds a massively logistical burden and could end up with more people getting hurt or killed transporting it to a war zone. That’s why there are set charities to donate to and government organisations set up because they have the resources and expertise to get the ammo to the soliders.

To my final point if you donate 1m rounds to Ukraine but it sits in your storage yard until the war is over because you have no way of shipping it, it’s not doing anyone any good.

Only you would think holding onto 1M rounds of ammunition in your shed and 'donating' is are some one of the same. Nobody serious about donating is going to just sit on something and call it a donation.

You're chosen points are highly flawed.

I plan on adding page numbers of any dev/admin replies to the first post, as I did after aurel1 commented on page 16.

Hey, still holding. Kyiv is a war zone now, officially. Food is very limited, we are supporting the older ones.

Russians are trying to surround Kyiv from north, west and east direction. Full blockade is mot possible atm. Volunteers are baking bread and other food, some shops are still open.

I just want to say how proud I am to work on Torn for last 12 years. It was a wonderful time, a time when we were able to work with community and do something great. Slava Ukraini my friends! I can’t say when I will be able go go online next time, but I love us all for sure :)

I don't have an opinion on this particular debate, but I can objectively say that you completely missed the point he was making there. You're going to have a hard time refuting his "chosen points" if you don't even understand them.
Taxxon [882264]
Considering the entire point of my original post was to show that it isn't 'in a bad taste' to donate ammunition; even if it the logistics make it unreasonable or impractical; intent is key; you both seemed to have missed this point - it is more than any Thoughts and Prayers can give, even if the person fails to receive the entire donation.

If I donate 1M to feed homeless and only 500K make it to actual homeless people, did I donate 1M or 500K?

This is no different than "Is the glass half full or half empty?" Perspective. Both can be right - it's how to view things.

Nah mate, that wasn't the part that I thought was in bad taste, and (one) of the points you missed.

You'll figure it out eventually, I'm done talking about it.
MadHatter [486416]
What I'm talking about is the "sitting in the storage yard" part. The argument he was making was that an overabundance of individual donations would tie up logistics, leading to things sitting untouched because there's too much to manage. He wasn't saying that people were going to claim they were donating, and then never send anything out.

It's hilarious that you, with your piss poor reading comprehension, would accuse others of missing the point.

And, no, donations that don't make it are empty sentiments that are helping no-one. If an overabundance of donations prevents or hinders the transportation of needed supplies, then then the donations are the opposite of helpful. Basic logic. I'm not arguing whether or not that is the actual case here, but the logic behind the argument is sound.

Like the other guy, I won't be responding to anything else in this thread. You're a waste of my time and energy.

I feel bad for you wasting your energy - seems like it was a poor choice to do so if you feel that way. Make wiser decisions next time?

Instead the 'other guy' has been messaging me in DMs for the last few hours. Should I expect another slide into my DMs?

Edit: Free Kherson!

Please do take it to DMs, as this is not a debate thread, but a support thread, and both sides seem to just be repeating themselves at this point.

hi,bro I would like to ask what kind of Internet access are you using now? Are you using the Internet access facilities for emergency repairs? Will the bandwidth be limited? Have you tried Starlink?
