Any linguists or anyone interested in linguistics here? What do you study / are interested in? Want to know anything about it? What do you want to know?

Tense, aspect, mood, & evidentiality are my focuses, but I'm also interested in documentation and language variation.

Wouldn't call the degree a linguistics one, since it also said it's not just linguistics but multiple disciplines in one.
It's called Cognition, Language & Communication.
My specialization would go towards psychology and psychobioligy with bits of philosophy and communication science thrown in.

One of the most interesting things to me is the workings of motivated cognition and how this works in relation to social distance in the six degrees of separation theory.

So the part about documentation and language variation is major overlap in that I believe.
Looking at current events for example, it's great to see how people watch/read the same sources about the conflicts in Ukraine but having very different outlooks shared through language on the forums.
I'm very curious about the deeper workings how people formulate their experience, whether it's gained firsthand or by any other means.
