Thread response suggestions

So as the title suggests i'm after tips on how you get succesful thread posts.

I'm a new trader and trying to get some interest but i'm getting next to no traffic on my posts and no trades.

Build up a network with people. Look for lower level people that are flying for plushies/flowers and start with them. Hopefully they stick with you as they progress into other ventures as well. You can't just make a thread and expect people to flock to you

You need to regulary bumb them too so they stay at the top, or at least at the first page.

Don't get traffic? Easy You need to send traffic to your threads.

Have positive trading interactions and once trade is done just ask nicely if they'd mind giving you a rate or a bump on your thread. Stress the fact that it helps you.

No need to pester people for it either if someone genuinely likes trading with you they will go through the extra effort to rate or bump you after you ask them nicely.

Thinking back when i first started travelling traders would notice i was selling a load on the market and they'd reach out to me, guess i'll try that to start with.

Yeah the couple people that i've managed to trade with have been willing to post feedback, just getting the trades in initially is the hard part.

Your trade chat presence is beyond underwhelming.

Yeah it's hard work till you reach a point where you no longer have to span trade chat or bump threads, people don't just go like "oh nice skateboard I just found wonder if ryanjnumbers will buy it" absolutely not. You need to provide positive experiences to enough people that they'd come back or refer other people to you. Keep spamming your trade ad, don't buy mug or trade mug and bump your threads it will all be worth it in the end.

Visuals catch the eye in a landscape of boring text.

1st point - listen to Oran. One of the most well-known traders in Torn, depending on what social circle you're looking at. Great advice there.

2nd point - You'll need to climb a few mountains to get your business moving along. I just put your prices next to the more prominent traders in Torn in regards to Plushies/Flowers (I have a flying trader spreadsheet to calculate most profitable items to fly and buy), and your prices don't compare to theirs. That's to be expected, of course, since as a new trader you probably need a higher profit margin. However, to make up for that, you'll need to put in extra effort to bring in business.

So, your takeaway should be to revamp your trading post thread to not focus on "here are my prices", but rather on why a trader should choose you. "Amazing trader to fellow new players", "Mug free, discreet trades", etc. As Varides said, you might also need to reach out to young plushie runners and offer trade services directly. A friendly outreach and personable service could easily make up for their ability to find a different deal elsewhere. Both focusing your thread to be n00b friendly and reaching out to get business directly will help get you the traffic you're looking for.

Don't give up! Being a recognized name in Torn takes a lot of effort. There are TONS of traders just like you around here, but with a bit of effort and persistence you'll be able to be recognized over them. Keep at it, be patient, and by asking for tips on how to improve you're already on the right track.

Forum trading thread is over rated imho. I have one for my trading, never bump it, never ask ppl to bump it n never ask ppl to add me on their friendlist. And I am such an asshole according to so many people. I have so much bounties placed on me. To add cherry on top, my close friends are well known muggers. So theoritically I shouldn't grow at all as traders.
But ime it does take time to build connection and self brand. Just be honest, be fair, n on point. When you set price, you have to ask yourself if you are your customer would you sell your stuffs to other people the way you price it? If everything looks good, then go for it.
N always no matter how big the temptation is always be honest person. Say A if it's A, n B if it's B n don't breach trust people have on you. It will open so many doors. Even if the odds are not on your favor right now. Ppl will come to you eventually.
Oh i forgot add this, when ppl show an inch of their kindness to u, dont ask them for a mile. The more u trade with ppl you will understand what I say on this.

I recently sold skateboard to DedeSilver they offered good price and they got the deal and no mugs so next time I got big item to sell I'll go to them.

Another trader buys flowers and plushies higher than I would sell on my own bazaar I guess he must be a point converter when they are on they get the deal for flowers and plushies.

I traded item for Xanax with another trader maybe 20 minutes later they decided to attack me, fail and called in a much stronger player to mug me. They will not get anymore deals.

Another trader when I bought Donator Packs would exchange with Xanax and always gave fairly even if I asked for less than they were worth they gave more.

For me as a seller these people are remembered. The trading post thread helps and building your base from trade chat when you have the time builds that base. What is remembered by me is how quick the trade is and how much they wanted my trade then and next time.
