What’s your favourite scam you’ve heard of or even pulled off? Looking for a little inspiration!(just kidding don’t bounty me)
just wanna see how low the general torn IQ is

My personal favourite is the old group stock investment scheme for players who didn’t have access to the stock market to invest in partial shares being promised huge returns. Definitely didn’t fall for this one as a noob.

Favourite might be a bit strong, but "hey I'm your best friend using this brand new account, please give me all your stuff" is truly remarkable for it's efficacy

The good ol doubling money scam, its a shame people still fall for those in places other than TORN these days.

Vault theft, I'd never do it but so many people store money in faction vaults when there is no need to.

The way the forums react to the ' oh no I got robbed in the city of crime ' threads is a good distraction from me doing something useful like blowing my nose.

I’d say vault scams for a different reason.

For me, the best one so far was the old bazaar switcheroo Xanax / Vicodin and Donator Pack / Box of Grenades.

I'm still not sure if it actually qualifies as a scam, as there was never an 'active' attempt to make anyone believe that Vico or Box of Grenades were in fact Xanax or DPs (other than listing them for the same price). But, boy oh boy, was it fun to read those complains in B&I xD and it made Ched implement that red warning when buying overpriced items from bazaars.

Heard of people putting a large suitcase in trade. Wait for someone to put his $10mill in then swapping the large case fir a medium one.

any bazaar scam where you price the crappy item the same as the good item is funny because it punishes people for ignoring the red "hey this is way overpriced are you sure" warning

Favourite is probably the wrong word for playing the long game I have to hand to to one I fell for many years ago.
So the scanner spent MONTHS in the faction, genuinely a likable person, active in forums and messaging and so on.

He then proceeded to ask for an investment that would give about 2% a week in returns. Started off small people investing a 50m ish.. Well he always delivered on the 2% so after a month people would up the investment. I think it ranged from 40m (myself at the time being a new player) to somewhere in the region of 300m.still the returns came in so again people upped the investment. Anyways after a couple. Of months the dude just goes.. Blocked everyone and as at the time scamming was against the rules you can imagine the amount of reports. Eventually the dude got fedded and the money lost with him... HOWEVER what I found out later was the billions people had sent him. Was being sent to a IRL friend of his. But because the friend wasn't a part of the scam, he got away with it all.
