There are currently SEVEN (7) NPC bosses in Torn with a large variation of loot drops!
Below I will list all possible loot from each one.

Anything under Loot Level IV is not worth the time and energy. (Excluding Scrooge/Easter Bunny)

Level V takes 3.5hrs longer to reach and the loot isn't better.

For those on the Duke mission, check the Scheduled Timer and set your alarm for around 5 minutes before the planned attack.

This will give you time to get ready, you can open the attack page HERE and sit and wait until the main group joins, then join in, wait for the 25 Distraction (See Below) and throw a Temp, you should be able to complete the mission after the fight ends.

Looter Title has been added to Torn!

03/09/24 - Added Looter profile title for those who have Items Looted as their highest-ranked personal stat.

NOTE: During some Torn Events, some/all NPC can be skipped, see our Discord for most up-to-date Info.

Many Discord servers have bots to ping you when an NPC fight is close, for those not wanting to use them then here are some great websites with timers:

loot chance

This is a lottery system

1 Item per Loot Level, these range from 1-5

Looting is very much an RNG thing, however you can Improve your odds. (See Below)

You will receive 1 Loot Lottery Ticket for the following actions
1 per damaging hit
1 per successful Temp weapon hit (damaging or stat reduction)
--------
DOT damage (Fire/Bleed/Poison ect) from other players does count as your own damage so that would still provide a ticket if you were to deal 0 damage on your hit.

Multiple hits in a single turn do not provide additional tickets(Rage/Fury/Blindfire ect)

"Tickets" are not physical items, it's just how the loot pool works

Side note: Total damage dealt doesn't matter.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Loot is given as an event notification, you do NOT need to be in the fight at the end to loot.
As long as you did some damaging hits/landed a Temp you can lose/escape/stalemate and it will not prevent looting.

NPC loot lottery tickets expire upon NPC defeat or regen to full life

Q: Can I still fight NPCs even with low stats?
A: Yes! Just wait until the distraction meter is high enough (Max is 25) before each hit, number will vary based on your stats so test it out :)

This is what the Distraction Meter looks like:

You can find this in the middle-left of the targets attack model

2 Honor Bars for fighting NPCs are available:

The wiki says:

[background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]
Loot is rewarded at random to those who participated in defeating the NPC. Those who put in more effort or did more damage will be more likely to receive the loot. **You don't need to be in the attack at the time of defeat to receive loot.

You should refer the damage point in your guide.

Torn Developers say that the more you do in the fight the higher your loot chance will be (as in more hits and more damage), think of it as a lottery system where 1 damaging hit adds +1 ticket to your chance (I believe non-damaging temps no longer add a ticket)

We discussed it just now in faction chat...

Is it more hits AND more damage, meaning the damage plays a significant role? Or do you have with like 50 turns with little damage also a high chance? Or in other words: Does it make sense to waste Hollow Point Ammunition here, if you are already fast enough to get many hits in?

Just wondering, because it does not seem to be fair that high damage output is the main driver for a high chance (*eyes at low stats people*).

Kind greetings,
byrod

This is what is currently unknown, personally i don't think damage matters, however Devs in the bug forums, along with Ched himself, have claimed damage matters.

bogie says damage doesn't really matter here: https://www.torn.com/forums.php#/p=threads&f=3&t=16276368&to=22426475

ARCHAEOBOTANIST [1993470]
Check YATA or Tornstats, look for NPCs that have less than 5 minutes remaining before Loot Level 4, and join in once you see at least 20 players joining the fight. The player minimum is mostly for low levels/low stats, as if there aren't enough hitters, they either miss all their hits or they all get mitigated.

I lost a few chances of loot that way.

The 10 minutes thing is pretty a late count, it always starts 6 minutes before the level 4 timer ends, so the optimal join time is 3-1 minutes in regards with the timer.
ARCHAEOBOTANIST [1993470]
I always join at 7 or 8 minutes, give or take when using YATA. It's what shows on mine, and I don't really know if it's the same for others.

It might be on my end, honestly. My pc's time is 6-7 minutes late.

Wait... yep, that's it. Thank you for letting me know.

I'll edit my post.
