Timebank System

Hey guys,

As of today a timebank system has been implemented.

For now the default time has remained the same for each table *, but you will also slowly build up a bank of extra time that can be used at your discretion, for when a huge call or fold may require a bit more thought!

- Your default timebank will be 15 seconds when you first join a table (within the last 2 hours).

- Every 10 hands you will earn 5 seconds of timebank, up to a maximum of 90 seconds.

- If you leave a table and return within 2 hours, you will keep the timebank you previously had (essentially an extension of the ratholing feature for buyin amounts).

** If you have any bug reports specifically with the timebank, I would appreciate if you can feed them back in this thread so I can streamline these issues directly to the responsible dev if necessary.

Yeah a default timer of 15s for each timer is much preferable with a timebank in place now, I agree.

Does it activate automatically when the regular time is up or do I have to push a button to request it before the regular time is up?
I hope it's the latter otherwise a random lag can take away the slowly built up timebank.

Though, a counter argument to the latter could be that it activating automatically can save your monster hand in case of a lag.

- 6max or 8max tables
- 15s shot clock
- adjust our own bet sizing presets.
- show the number of big blinds (BB) in the pot

I love the time bank...

2 suggestions:

1) add a button to choose when we use it. Say I go afk with full time bank... now the other player have to wait an additional 90 secs... kinda defeating the purpose

2) make all tables 15 secs... with time bank there shouldn't be much of a need to make it any longer

Tournaments, spin and wins, sit and go would be awesome additions

Agreed with PJ on the selecting it, should not be automatic.

Also after playing tonight i've realised that when you time out, even though your opponents have to wait the extra time (from your time bank), when you sit back in you do not lose it. You should, or it should reset to 15 otherwise its just giving those constant time out persons a hell of a lot more time to hold up the game.

Example of what i mean.

I had 75 secs timebanked.. used 10 in a hand. so i was left at 65 for next round. That works fine. But. at one point i had 63 seconds time bank. used all of it and timed out but when i sat in back it remained unused.

Oh that’s very strange and definitely a bug! Will be passed on.

I think I saw another bug the other day (unless it was intentional)

one player had reached the "max" 90 secs. And then used like 2 seconds of the time bank so it went down to 88 secs... on the next tick, he gained an additional 5 secs, bringing the total to 93 secs

You guys from Torn implemented that with good intentions but you made it worse. It does not prevent people from deliberately delaying the game. This is, however, exactly the point of a time bank. Give 15secs time to think on every table and leave the time-bank as it is. Also PLEASE give us a couple of 4 and 6max tables. Thanks.

i agree with those suggestions, as it is timebank is ruining gameplay for me.
i only play on tables with short timer, with full table and timebanks takes forever
so shortening the timers across the board or just do away with the timebank is my vote

Just picking a random post to quote although it was requested by many (myself included)

Table shot clocks will now be adjusted downwards:

* 60s --> 30s
* 30s --> 15s
* 15s = 15s

This will occur on Tuesday with the patch-list. I may also make a post for more exposure but not sure if its necessary yet.

15s is too short ., im not a fans of poker fast.
was talking to my wife for seconds and BANG ! ..timed out!

20s is fair , just my opinion.

Obvious solution: Don't talk to wife.
