It may come from any thing or incident or any person. Perhaps it makes our mind to hate life. In that case enjoy your time eith friends, siblings. No need to be alone and to think hour by hour. Being in work can be a solution to remove bad thinkings. Don't judge anyone for your unhappyness. That can make you more disgraced. Listen songs relatable to life(exp - avicii)

I.A.W just stay happy! <3

Depression is not just being happy, it's about not hating yourself...

When you are depressed, you are your worst enemy, as you know all you secrets and what will hurt you...

Learn to love yourself, the rest come later...

As someone with longterm chronic depression, I wish it were that easy. Some days it's a struggle to find the motivation to do anything. But I just try and take it one day at a time.

I don't think I can anymore. I've had depression for a while and frankly I've given up with everything. I feel like no one is on my side. That no one cares. That I have nothing. I feel like I'm not f**ling respected or cared about! Idk what to do anymore. I'm waiting on a therapist but I don't think I can. Frankly, I don't see the point anymore. My life is worthless. I just want to give up. I can't do it anymore. If anyone has anything that can help me, whether that be a technique or someone to talk to, anything, just DM me. I might need as much support as I can get until my therapy. I need as much help as I can get because frankly, and I hate to admit it, but I'm suicidal.

Depression does do that, it makes you feel so isolated and numb. Your life has meaning it's just hard for you to see it right now, do you have any hotlines or charities that you can call? Just venting and getting all of this out and having somebody listen really helps. Take care and be kind to yourself dude. I'll drop you a DM.

Depression is an illness like any other.

What this means is that just like any other illness, it is not something that the person getting it can truly control.

If you get sick with a cold, there isn't much you can do. You have to essentially just live through it. You can treat issues of the cold. Take cold medicine. Rest well. Have a more cold-friendly diet. Stay in contact with a doctor, to make sure things don't worsen. But you can't magically cure the cold, you can only manage it.
You can reduce your chances of catching a cold, by taking precautions. Washing hands, not touching the face, wearing a mask, social distancing, staying in good shape, having a good diet even when not sick.
But even taking those precautions, you can still end up getting a cold, no matter how careful you were.

Now replace 'cold' with 'depression' above and it still holds. If you get sick with depression (and make no mistake, depression IS a sickness), there isn't much you can do. You essentially just have to live through it. You can treat issues of the depression. Take medication prescribed to you. Go to therapy. Stay in contact with professionals to make sure it doesn't worsen. Get extra rest. Adjust daily routine. Adjust diet to be more healthy for your mental state. But you can't magically cure the depression, you can only manage it.

You can reduce your chances of getting depression, by taking precautions. Exercise, diet, having a good social circle, staying in therapy, having healthy coping mechanisms, having medication, etc.
But even taking those precautions, you can still end up getting depressed, no matter how many precautions you took.

And like any physical illness, sometimes the issue is a one-time thing (albeit with a risk of catching it again), and other times it is a chronic illness that is lifelong and thus, debilitating, with it never truly going away.
A cold is an example of a physical illness that is a one-time thing which you can end up catching again, and for some people depression is like that: they get it once and while they have a chance of a relapse, they're not guaranteed to get one and are thus, going to be fine.

But there are many illnesses which are chronic, lifelong ones. Flareups of various nerve diseases for instance. Things that can appear at any time. Things that you can medicate, and help manage, and help make happen less often, but which will still always come back, sometimes more severe than other times.

And depression, being an illness that can be chronic, works the same way. You can be struck by it at any time, even on medication that helps manage it. You can make it happen less often and have it be less severe. But it will always come back, sometimes more strongly than other times.

I've been suffering from depression for years. But in the last week my doctor has told me they believe it to be Treatment Resistant Severe Depression. It has caused me to lose my job in June this year, I'm now massively in debt, and selling my house. I have been signed off by the doctor since March, and it only seems to be going down hill. Every day now, I question what my reason for living is. I have a family, but just feel that I have disappointed them, and that they would be better off without me. They are adding some new anti psychotic to my meds tomorrow, so maybe that will help, but I doubt it. I wish you all the best, and hope you find a road out.

You haven't disappointed them. Talk to your family, ask them. Remind yourself that things have been better before and that they can get better again.

Depression is one of the hardest (and often unnoticed) conditions a person goes through, simply because you become your own biggest enemy and it's like being alive in a body with a mind that wants to die. The sheer isolation itself is what amplifies it all, as one could say you have too much time to think etc ... as well as knowing your own deepest secrets and fears.

As someone who's been through it and come out the other end in a much better place, I'd like to say you are not alone & are very much loved.

I know it's hard, but when you really think about it, you have a 100% track record of surviving every shit thing in life and can even get through this - sometimes you got to think about braving the storm to get to sunnier shores.

Baby steps - set goals, targets, find a hobby or 2, exercise, practise self care, eat healthier, relax, etc... all of these things help and gradually you will be on the better side and mjch stronger too!

Good luck, you have to help yourself before anyone else can help you, but you got this.

On that note, if anyone (we are talking about the individual, not ingame personas / rivalries) just needs someone to talk to, hmu. By no means am I a qualified professional, but sometimes a little chat can help.

Just live for yourself. Build meaningful relationships with people who respect you. If people treat you badly, leave them alone. My 2 cents

My mother died in February at 57yo from meningeal cancer. She was full of health and energy, and even evaded covid when everyone in the house got it. I miss her dearly and since her death I have been off balance. My doctor advised me to take some medication, but still the pain of losing my mother was and still is the most crushing sensation that I've ever felt. My wife was pregnant at the time and my grandmother (the mother of my mother) was very ill. My grandmother died the next month in March. I was numb from the pain of losing my mother, and so, losing my grandmother wasn't as painful as I thought it would be. My grandmother was ill for several years now and we were expecting that outcome. My daughter was born the month after, in April, and I was overwhelmed with emotions. In one hand there was the birth of the most beautiful and magical being ever to walk this earth, on the other hand the woman that made me, raised me and loved me inconditionally was not there to see her granddaughter, her first granddaughter, and that destroys me everyday. When my baby girl smiles, when she starts making those little sounds, when she plays with her toys, when she eats her soup or drinks her milk, I cry both of joy and sadness. Now all that sustains me is my little girl. If anything happened to her that would definetly be my demise.
Maybe its to dark, but thats how I live now, in a constant state of joy and sadness that somehow manages to keep me afloat.
Just putting this out there, they say you have to talk, and I did. but the feeling remains.

Depression, silent killer. Not good with yourself you cant relate with others. My dad went throught that, same here. Now since I moved to another country I kinda feel better, but on the other hand feeling little nostalgic and depressive for what I left behind. Immigrant that doesnt cry, not immigrant lol.

Time heals all?

BSounds like what you are facing is grief. Grief does not always related with death of love ones. Grief happens whenever you lose someone, something, job, project, comfort zone, a place, even when you start "losing yourself".

You gonna get through some serries of emotions like shock, denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance before you can start processing it properly. It doesn't have to go exactly at such order and time means nothing for griefing. It's not always like a journey with clear destination. There can be something or someone that can trigger the grief to come back esp if you never let yourself to properly grief at first place.
The good news is you already detect it yourself. You are aware you griefing and so now you can study it and pass through that. For that I wish nothing but the best of luck for you. I hope you have strong social support around you. Please do research about it, please work on your grief, and please talk to someone when it's too hard for you to handle on yourown.

For some people they may be unaware that they are griefing for months or years. When my mom died, it took me 3 years to even realize I was griefing by that. I don't use my emotion very often so I thought I was fine about not having a mom. Everyone around me gave me the warning but I still said I was fine. By the time I realized what was going on with me, the self destruct was too severe lol. I already got bankrupt, way over weight, dumped my boyfriend, and cut all my family/ friends off. Took years and extra hardwork to rebuild and regain them. So yeah please start taking care of yourself and your grief. It's like carrying a ticking timebomb if you keep bottle things up.
Cheers.

Ps: your grief is called migratory grief. I strongly suggest you look it up. Gl ya
