    I would say it’s +\- 1% close to the actual value. Maybe someone can try calculating the value and seeing what the fortune teller says. Curious to see what the difference is, but I’m sure it will be different across …

Just outside of Beijing, hidden in a forest, you will find the fortune teller. This woman has the answer to the question many in Torn City are asking themselves every day: how much longer until I can level up? Go visit her, and she may tell you the answer for the small fee of $75,000.

The fortune-teller in China allows players the ability to travel to check the percentage of their current level progress for a price of $75,000. Level holders will simply see their progress as 100%.

BUT, why travel and pay when you can calculate your own progress here in Torn City?? I will tell you how it can be done in 6 steps.

1. Get your current ranking # (https://www.torn.com/halloffame.php#type=level) (EX: Someone is currently hypothetically ranked 848)

2. Find what rank the last level you are checking for (EX: 1022 is the ranking of the last level 99)

3. Find what rank the first level you are checking for (EX: 820 is the ranking of the first level 99)

4. Now subtract the last number from the first (EX: 1022-820 = 202 / There are 202 lv 99's)

5. Now subtract your current rank from the last rank (EX: 1022 - 848 = 174)

6. Now take your number from step 5 and divide it from the number in step 4. ((174/202) * 100) = 86.1%

In this hypothetical example, you are 86.1% of the way to level 100.

Not necessarily. This method only works assuming a uniform distribution of XP across everyone in your level, which is definitely not true. Because of level-holders, this will almost certainly underestimate your real XP progress.

Plus you have to add one to both the top and bottom of the fraction. But this is probably good enough of an approximation as anyone really needs.

the logic is correct, but for me the formula is not right. I just came from China and the number are not even close. Maybe it is just for me, if someone can try it else...

approximations tend to be like that.

It's gonna be wrong by a bit every now and then, considering the simplicity of the approximation and not accounting for level holders and other circumstances. While most of them don't really apply at level 55 (e.g. powerlevellers into low 15, chainers just leaving 15, holders at 15/69/whatever) specifically, it's good to know at least.
