Are you able to provide more details? What exactly isn't working? Can you see the chat? Does it give you an error message?
Can you please be a bit more elaborate about what part of chat is not working for you? You have given me the least amount of information possible.

I am having an issue with chat. It is only with one person and chat will not open. I can chat other people just fine. I'm on mobile. From persons page and using faction and job tabs, cannot open chat with him.
And... working again. It happens once or twice a year to me.

Version 104.0.1 (64-bit)
Expected behavior:
click chat icon on player's profile to open chat window (cuinhel). On receiving a message, since the chat window is not open, a new window should be created.
Actual behavior:
after clicking the chat icon nothing happens. No new window is created even if the other person writes. All other chats are working as expected. Users can communicate in faction chat as well.
Current Workaround:
a) use another Browser (tested with Brave). If the chat window is present there, closing it will fix the issue.
b) in any browser click on the "people" icon on bottom right, search the player in the "Recent" tab, press "X", fixed
Steps to reproduce:
Random occurrence. Issue occurred yesterday and today with the same player
Context:
HAR File from Firefox (~13 MB)
This bug is in the following HAR with the following procedure:
- refresh affected issue profile page
- click the chat icon button multiple times, actual behavior described occurs
- move to another player profile and test button, works as expected (xThunderSlugx)
- move to another player profile and test button, works as expected (bekoe)
- return to the affected profile and test, actual behavior described occurs
The fix used as described above as a).
If / when the issue happens again will use the fix b) and provide an HAR file as well.
If / when the issue happens can test if the mobile app on Android could be a possible fix (assuming yes, since different browser)
Refreshing the page without cache, disabling extensions, restarting browser and / or the device do not fix the issue.
HMU if there is anything else I can do.

if you use more than one device, close the chat tabs there and try again.
alternatively, logout from all your devices (there is an option to do that when you log out) and try again.

This happens if you left the chat window open an another idle device/browser. You need to open the idle device, close or minimize the window and you should be able to access the chat on your mobile. Alternatively, you can locate the person under Recent list and click the cross next to their name to clear them from the Recent list, this force closes the chat window on all idle/open devices.

I was just trying to provide information in troubleshooting the issue - that's why the HAR file - but if the devs are aware of it then great.

I will close this for now. We currently do not have any resources assigned to the Chat and currently working on Chat rework. You can use the workaround mentioned above for now if you are facing issue with chat box not opening for a specific person.
