It's pretty easy to make 1.5m a day or more running flowers and plushies. That's 500m every 333 and 1/3 days.

If you're only making 1.5m running then something's gone horribly wrong! I run UK with a PI, suitcase and toyshop job and make about 1.3m per trip. Each trip's about 3h40m round trip, so if you're active you can comfortably make at least 5m/day doing that.
I'm talking "only on enough for one trip a day" easy, but yeah, it's not hard to hit ~5m if you can get on throughout the day.
Fair enough, yeah 1.5+ per trip is perfectly accessible, especially if you go for SA/China/UAE, which would be the best destinations for a once-a-day trip.
