I just unlock SSL gym n wondering, is it worth 500mils?? What are the pros cons?? there is not much infos about this gym! Thanks

If you play Torn for like 20 years and you never use a stat enhancer, SSL may be able to give you better gains than xanax, assuming you eventually drop to 1 xan per day when you hit rehab cap.

But since that really describes almost no one, it probably doesn't make sense to drop the 500m on it instead of going xanax. And I say that as someone that was very close to unlocking SSL and thought about it long and hard.

Well known player Dunmugmeh spent years doing the no Xanax game and is now a Xanax user.
That should tell you what you need to know.

SSL is bad, because it’s being ignored be developers. They focus grammar fixes rather than balancing the game out.

So most people do not paint you a clear picture.

What is SSL gym?
Strictly technically speaking, this is the best gym in Torn. Caveat is, as others said, you can only ever take 150 total xanax+ecstasy if you want to train in it.

Is it worth it?
Yes, if you were planning on using it and that is your character setup. By this I mean that you planned of NOT taking xana and ecstasy from the get-go (because of various reasons) with the sole purpose of once unlocking SSL.

No, if you are half-inactive and only realized by chance that you can unlock it.


It seems to me you fall into this other category, you are 7 years old, 119 xana ever used and 444M nw with approx 13M battle stats, which implies you are casual user who would waste $500M on a gym you will rarely use.

If you want to "up the ante" on your game, you have two choices:
- start taking xana regularly like everyone else
- spit out 500M for SSL and train like a pro there

OP appears to have somehow lucked into the SSL while playing normally, rather than aiming for it. He has over 100 xanax so he can't even get the ecstasy drug merit if he plans on staying SSL, has less than 500m networth which he would need to unlock it, and appears to take xanax highly irregularly but when he needs energy meaning he's likely to get himself kicked from SSL in a year or two even if he does unlock it now.

So while I would normally say "no it's not worth it but if you're going to stay xanax free you might as well get it", in your particular case I would simply say no, it's not worth it. Save the money, put it in the bank, and buy xanax with the interest, and you'll be better off than if you unlocked SSL.

I have played the game for ages been active everyday since 2007. Done my bits and pieces. Got a lot of stuff done etc. I have made a few strategic blunders whilst playing this game. I think the worst mistake i made was taking the SSL route.

How many more stats would i have had if i had been chewing on xanax all these years? At least double the stats i have now im guessing? I am someone who could have been taking 2/3 xanax a day for 15 years.

The gym gains in georges on xanax are noticeablly higher than using the SSL.

I have been here for ages and im afraid some of the time i have been on auto pilot :S I have switched off auto pilot and im in control now.

I mention a few strategic blunders in the first sentence. Look at my ranking in the crimes hall of fame... Yes i chugged nerve 4 alcohols clicking nerve 2 crimes for a few years about 10 years ago ... I think i may have had a mild form of rabies... how many $billions did i waste doing that? Lots is the answer. Most of it should have been spent on FHC and energy cans to train.

naysayers are all pussies, generally you get a hit in the stats, but at least you don't need to worry about f*cking s*acking overdose

not to mention worrying about being kicked out of an education course

I mean, if you wasted enough E training without using xanax to get there, you might as well spend the 500mil to get some really good gains.

Most SSL Users convert to xanax upon realising playing torn tied to Natural energy and refills suck ass for chaining and long term gains.

It makes ranked warring and chaining extremely expensive and you'll struggle to meet most factions requirements for chaining / wars.
