Why is the punishment for cheaters (those with multi's) so lenient. They know the rules why do they get such a pussy penalty just because they are 'long term' players gaming the system and contacts

I suggest:
1. Delete all secondaries/multis
2. On the primary
a. Reduce all stats by 50%
b. Reduce net worth by 75%
Give them a 90 day ban

As a 'new' player I see these slap downs with a feather as not even a token response, and not really a reflection of the rules.

Alternate accounts do get permanently fedded which is virtually indistinguishable from deletion, and the main account generally gets a fairly hefty temp fedding, if not just straight to perma fed. The longer term consequences of being fedded for multies are that you're on reeeeeaaaally thin ice. A 90 day ban is... pretty harsh. To the extent that it's likely that most people wouldn't even bother coming back to begin with. 30 is enough to send a message but not make everyone who gets bonked want to quit entirely. Reducing stats would only further the number of people who quit entirely.

Elizabeth is right - There's a fine line between delivering a harsh punishment that teaches someone not to cheat in the future, and simply causing the culprit of the crime to leave the game forever. One could argue if driving these individuals from the game permanently is the better outcome for Torns future, but one could also argue that lesser crimes deserves punishment followed by a second chance to do the right thing. From a business perspective, it's very understandable that the people behind Torn does not want to cause people to never return to the game at all.

How about those new players that see old players get slapped on the wrist for cheating and keeping those stats they cheated to actually achieve?

The cheaters might not be as high stated if they didn't cheat so why give them the benefit of the doubt? Why would you keep the stats you gained while you were heating?

If someone scams the system and cheats gets ahead stat wise while cheating, then gets a 30 day fed sentence and comes back to an account which is stronger than it should? Only pushes people to only cheat ONCE...

If you cheated you technically stole from the developers so why not punish them more harshly? Who cares if they don't come back to play if it means newer players could quit instead?

Always 2 sides to a coin

So the main benefit you generally see from people having multiple accounts is money, not stats, and often when a player is caught with multiple accounts and an inordinate amount of money, fedding occurs and they're stripped of money. Ever see someone with a networth in the negative tens or even hundreds of millions? That's why. As far as it pushing people to only cheat once, well... sure, there's certainly a valid argument to be had there. But despite a lot of the angry posts complaining about Bogie abusing power, the punitive system on Torn is fairly forgiving to the average player, which isn't a bad thing. Most of the time, when you see someone break a rule in Torn and receive punishment for it, a slap on the wrist is often enough for the average player to stop doing whatever it is, and it doesn't completely bar them from playing the game or permanently cripple their experience. When it comes to making multiple accounts, yes, sending them to fed is warranted, and just the same, stripping them of their illicit money, which often happens. That's more than enough to send a message without slapping a big "f**k you" on their account for the rest of time.

And tell me what is that money used for in this game? To gain STATS... either by happy jumps, xanax or SE's... sure the main account might have gained a lot of extra cash... but how many Xanax could he afford while he was cheating how many extra happy jumps could he afford that he otherwise wouldn't of been able to afford?

Even if you take his money away and put his networth in the negatives he STILL gained an unfair advantage and boosted his or her stats more than if they never cheated

So sure negative networth... but positive gain on stats, get my drift now?

Which to a certain extent can make it worth while cheating only once...

I'm not a cheater... loosing any kind of progress is not for me... but the ones that do should get a stat punishment with their financial punishment...

And if that makes them quit than so be it...

It's my belief anyway...
