IndyCar's - "Drive It Like You Stole It" - Ultimate Crime Guide

This guide combines several other guides and research on crime experience into one comprehensive easy to follow progression. The main focus on this guide is getting to 10k Fraud and from there finishing all the crime medals which give merits.

It is recommended that you put 10 merit upgrades into both Crime XP and Nerve Bar (after education length and bank interest). Also getting City Job: Federal Judge, Education: CMT2610 & PSY3690, and crime enhancers along the way will help with overall success. Being in a faction with Criminalty perks is also useful as well as any job that offers crime perks. While not required they are helpful in completing crimes faster.

Below is the step by step progression. Individual results may vary with perks and RNG. Feel free to test the next level sooner if you have a bunch of perks. If you see several red fails then you should downgrade your current crime. You can view your criminal record at any time by checking your stats, home page, or the link within the crimes tab.

Step 1 Do the 2 nerve crime “Search for Cash” 200 times. (Any work the last one seems to pay the best)

Step 2 Do the 3 nerve crime “Sell Copied Media” 200 times. (Again any work, but the last seems to pay the best).

Step 3 Do the 4 nerve crime “Shoplift, Clothes Shop, Jackets" 1000 times. This one does matter as it is the safest and therefore will build your nerve bar the quickest. Stealing chocolate bars is more profitable, but will land you in jail basically negating all the gains you made from the successfully stolen chocolate.

Step 4 Do the 5 nerve "Pickpocket Someone" 1,000 times. (Progressively work your way up to Bussinessman, do not pickpocket the Lawyer.)

Step 5 Do the 7 nerve "Armed Robbery" 3,000 times. (Swift Robbery and then Thorough Robbery only.)

Step 6 Do the 11 nerve "Arson, Warehouse" 10,000 times. Once you get to 30 NNB you can try this one. You will need the General Education course Drivers License and a Gas Can. This is the best Crime Experience gain you will get from crimes. You will probably get to about 55 NNB after you finish these. You will also earn all Fraud

There are 2 paths to take from here one being finishing off maxing your NNB with additional Arsons. This path is recommended if you are trying to get into a faction with Political Assassinations (which can earn you huge sums of cash). The second path is to get the rest of the crime merits which there are two different methods here as well. The first method (which I started and failed 2 of my first 3, but might revisit) is to work on the crimes with the largest CE gains. I will label those as A-E. The second method is to complete the remaining crime merits in order of most likely to succeed with the largest CE gain.

Step 7 (D) Do the 9 Nerve "Plant A Computer Virus, Stealth Virus" 10,000 times. You will need to purchase or develop your own stealth virus.

Step 8 (B) Do the 10 Nerve "Assassination, Mob Boss" 10,000 times.

Step 9 (C) Do the 12 Nerve "Grand Theft Auto, Steal A Parked Car" 10,000 times. You will need a Coat Hanger.

Step 10 (A) Do the 15 Nerve "Kidnapping, Woman" till thefts are 25,000.

Step 11 (E) Do the 8 Nerve "Transport Drugs, Transport Amphetamines" 10,000 times.

After completing this step you will have all the crime merits. You should also have 60 NNB and hopefully you are in a Political Assassination team. If this is true you can begin the Hacking Crimes to earn cash as you will no longer need to worry about CE loss.

I'm curious why people don't think this is good advice. It was thoroughly researched from other proven guides and then compiled. It lists the number of successful attempts opposed to NNB which is the only real difference. If anything it at least provides links to the most useful crime guides available at the moment.

I'm new so I appreciate all the info and help I cant get , but if you're gonna shit on his post at least provide something better , other wise it would seem you're hatin.

Yes, however once you are doing PAs the success from them will counter the loss of CE from hacking. And I'll find the data post on that in a minute. Maybe not exactly a data post...

Aseal [2589549]It seems Hacking is stagnating your CE which is fine considering the money you get from it.
The reason why I keep pointing out maxing your NNB quickly is because it doesn't matter if you fail as a 40NNB or a 60NNB. You'll lose a fixed amount of CE anyway.
If you would do drug crimes at 40NNB and you lose a slight amount of NNB then you might go down to 35NNB when finishing it.
If you would do drug crimes at newly gotten 60NNB, you still lose slight amount of NNB and might go down to 55NNB when finishing it.
If you would do drug crimes as an experienced 60NNB, you lose slight amount but the already huge cushion between 55NNB and 60NNB experience will keep you away from going down.
This is much different from the old system where you lost a percentage of your CE. In that case, the later you'll do unsafe crimes, the more you'll lose. PA leaders that haven't done drug merits would lose months, even years of CE trying to pursue that.

Even bigger is that doing high OCs will increase your NNB instead of decreasing it simply because the gain from OC is stronger than the loss from your other crimes. a PA gives ≈650 Arson worth of CE and PH gives ≈150 Arson worth of CE. A fresh 60NNB is most likely put either in a PH or a PA so the OC themselves can keep you away from downgrading at all. In other words, as soon as you reach 60NNB and you're put into a PH or PA team, the chance of you downgrading back to 55NNB is extremely small no matter what crimes you do. It can happen if you fail a couple of PH or PA in a row.

As an example, let's say you just got 60NNB and are in a PH team. At the same time you're going for the drug merits and currently rocking 90% success chance with 10% jail chance (hypothetical numbers). Based on Mug's crime data, you lose 8 Arsons worth of CE for each fail. With 90% success rate, you're looking at 4 arson CE lost every 10 crimes (80 nerve). A single successful PH gives 150 Arson. You'll need to do, on average, 375 drug crimes in order to not gain or lose any CE. This is assuming you're not failing the OC. An average 60NNB player might spend around 400 nerve per day (natural regen, refill and +- alcohol). With these hypothetical stats, you'll gain a small amount of CE if the PH won't fail.

EDIT: Forgot to point out that failing a crime and going to jail, or failing a crime and going to the hospital will make you lose different value. That's why Arson is the top crime to gain NNB simply because the success chance is extremely high and it's a safe crime (you don't go to jail).

I just hit 60 NNB over the event following my guide. After getting 10k Warehouse Arsons it was a little less than 2k Kidnap Woman to reach 60 NNB. Undecided if I'm going to keep boost my CE (for future PAs) or go for the numbers to finish the crime merits though. Probably going to continue boosting my CE though.
Raventhyr [2518018]
Keep going for Kidnap Woman, the CE gains are comparable to Arson Warehouse. Strongly suggest going for PA before merits (and you'll be in one well before 25k thefts from Kidnap Woman), CE gains from PA are awesome
IndyCar [2634079]
Yeah, I've decided I'm going to continue pushing CE gains with Kidnapping Woman, Assassinate Mob Boss, GTA Parked Car, Plant Stealth Virus and finally Transport Coke. When I get to a point where I'm continually succeeding at PAs then I'll re-evaluate changing for merits. Got to wait on my PA team to form first though.
