Hello all i think it would be a good idea if you could gift friends subscriber status who cant purchase one themselves because of many different reasons like age,playing mum and dad and every penny counts or from a poor country.Im lucky enough to be from Scotland and even tho its no dubai im blessed and i was wanting to gift a subscriber to my friend i made in the game for many reasons but mostly the added bonuses and chance of books would help im greatly and even not needing to buy a dp with tron cash every month would help..I asked staff if this was alowed and i was told it is allowed but id need to put my details through is account and even tho i like this player and want to help him i dont want anyone having my details so having the option to gift them would be awesome. please make this allowable and forum folks please rate up so ched takes notice ,thankyou all and have a nice night :)

I would love this, in our existing system it isn't really feasible though. However in the new year we are looking at a complete rebuild of our donations system to update it, potentially add new payment options and remove existing … - Nobody [237547]

In case it didn't cross your mind, you can send them cash on PayPal and they can sub on their own. I'm pretty sure you can set up automatic transfers there as well. That said, I don't see why it …
I can see an exploit with the monthly gift farming potentially,but if there was a way round that I dont see why not.

People are devious an clever in torn,if the theres the slightest thing to gain it would get abused,I think the only safe option is to gift them an in game donator Pack.

If I remember correctly, with how payments are handled this currently isn't feasible to implement / possible. They'd like to if it were possible, but are just unable to.

The thing is even if someone sent them money to pay themselves,theres nothing stopping them from saying but I want the free gifts sent to me.An that's still an exploit,however small it is.
Thats a good suggestion Nobody thanks for your post ,i dont have a paypal but thats something i could set up ,Just we had an innocent in our faction and one of our members were kicked because they thought he wasnt hitting in rw ,well this guy was one of 3 people who made it online at set time of chain and sat from start to end with me and one other and we sadly failed at 99 but hes a new player and made many outside hits as he couldnt defeat anyone in our war and hes been same last 2 wars and i like fighting and playing game with him and talking to him in game and id like to help him get further and a subby would help him alot even more than sending him cash.
Thats a fair point to m8 and id also like to be able to interact with him like help him him help me etc so its a guessing game how to put in motion,but i think the good in this situation would outweigh the bad.
I just think some people would abuse the situation worse than a Michael Jackson sleep over.

i understand that m8 but atm i can pay for it but then my details would not be secure this is the suggestion plus only sweats cheat most actual players play for fun and the social aspect of game so it wouldnt be to hard to check for abuse.
Are we going to pretend that the subscription gifts are actually worth spending an extra £3 a month or however much the sub is?
The main reason to get a subscription is for the energy regen and your chance at books, neither of which can be traded.
The other items aren't really worth £3 a month, especially when you could just buy a donator pack and guarantee yourself $20m+ compared to the gamble of gifting someone a subscription.
The biggest issue, and it is still pretty small, is the chance that people buy other people's subscriptions with the hope that they win the monthly raffle to win points. An easy solution for that is to not allow gifted subs to be entered into the raffle.
TLDR: With the climate as it is, I think allowing people to buy others a subscription would be a really nice touch, and I have no doubt that Torn could benefit from the extra income. Anyone using that mechanic to 'scam' torn would likely be losing money compared to just buying a donator pack.

This could certainly be something we'd discuss then.

Singular instances of this would be fairly easy to handle, and I could likely recover the costs of any such things from the gifter rather than the giftee to prevent potential abuse... Sure but that wouldn't be feasible in the existing system as payment would go through either way, we'd have no way to time delay that Maybe that doesn't matter, however I'm not particularly sure what problem it would solve, the issues I mentioned would still be a possibility, no?
Has things stand bogie and i got it now but through paypal would i lose the ability to send my friend gifts cash etc or him to be in future ,we live in different countries but i wouldnt like to lose that ability for life in torn.Even better could you link me to any information on this you could please.
Just do it as RS3 (Runescape) does. 20 DP`s would buy you 1 subscription for a year it can be added in a pawnshop that way f2p (players that don`t spend $) can get subscriber status for book rewards and DP`s circulation shrinks a bit because if you can gift subscriber status it will end up being trade "I will pay x torn $ for subscriber status" (kinda RMT) and Torn would lose potential income because ones that buy DP`s would buy subscribers for other players for more $.
