If you mean "in the top 250 of the HoF", then no.
It means that your ranking in losses is "better" than your ranking in any other category that's linked to a title.
For what it's worth my title was "Coward" for quite a while, including, briefly, "Heroic Coward". It didn't hurt much.

try to level up to level 15 and go flying, or check out baldr's guide
you can also sell loses at the start so that you get enough money to afford renting a PI with an airstrip which will help you with flying around and making money.
To answer your earlier question, no the title Loser has no effect on the gameplay, it just means you have gained more ranking in losing attacks as compared to any other activity in the game.
To answer your other question
A good way to make money would be to level up to 15, unlock traveling, join a faction that will provide you perks such as buying more items when you travel abroad and then renting a private island with an airstrip, hire a pilot in that private island and then fly to UK or Argentina (you can make about 600k) , if you can spare some extra money, even buy a large briefcase.
Having an airstrip: gets you the ability to buy 15 items per travel
Large briefcase: Adds 4 more items over that
That means you'll be able to bring back 19 items in each trip (even more if you join a faction with travel perks)
Assuming you travel to UK and manage to buy the plushies, that's 800k (42k per plushie) per trip
