Hacking Advice

I recently hit 45 NNB and want to get into hacking. I don't have Federal Judge perk (10% passive bonus to crime exp) and Bachelor of Psychological Sciences (10% increase in crime success rate), but I remember reading that crime success rate cap at 45 NNB anyway. Should I go straight to hacking or get the above perks first? Thanks in advance.

3 star meat warehouse perk is the only one you need.

For 18-1, do it whenever you want, because you are 45nnb now. Just do some arson warehouse in case your long term succ rate falls under 90%, but just 1 arson for 1 jail

For 18-2, you must get these perks so you wont suffer from huge ce lost:
- 10k INT
- Law job special
- Meat warehouse 5* 3*special
- Faction's ce upgrade, or full ce merit, just 1 of 2
- 35 nnb or above

All hacking needs enhancer, i.e. wireless dongle

where did you get this info? apart fromt the 10k int everything is completely wrong:
- the special you need is the one from 3* MW, not 5.
- law city job perk, faction upgrades and merits are, in theory, useless after 45 NNB like OP and nobody knows for sure.
- i'm not sure about the 35 NNB, i'd say at that NNB there is still a chance the money gain isn't maxed, i'd need to see some data to say for sure.
- also bank and fbi are, to my understanding, exactly the same in terms of requirements, but different in reward. you'll gain more money with fbi.

please, since it's just 4 months that you play, avoid giving information that you are not 100% sure about.
if in doubt at least state clearly that you aren't sure so other people will know that they have to verify what you have said.


OP all info you need are above and remember that you will also slow down a lot your CE growth.
in my case, i started hacking at 55 NNB, only after completing the law city job and completing the Psychology Bachelor.
always had the enhancer for this crime (wireless dongle) and started with 5 merits in crime success rate but then removed them at some point.
also, for almost all the time i have been hacking i have also been in succesful Plane Hijacking teams, the second best OC that every 7 days grants me the equivalent of 150 arsons worth of CE, more or less. that will make a world of difference and will help you grow your CE even if at around half the speed of someone doing only arsons.

edit: i have also never done arsons to make up for jailings. i think it's a very bad way of dealing with it. just go full hacking if you feel like it and have the basic requirements, else just keep doing arsons.

that doesn't mean shit. OP is at 45 NNB, so it's a different situation and ONLY the MW perk and the 10k INT are needed.

30nnb is enough for 18-1, I've made 134mil from it

as you can see these are better results compared to yours, done at 45NNB. which means 30 NNB aren't good enough.

the requirements are the same, until proven wrong, and it seems you can't at the moment. not only that but some you mentioned aren't probably required after 45 NNB.
also in a 3* MW you WON'T have any CE loss basically, so that's the only real requirement, at least in OP's case.

i think you are still missing a big point:
switching to fbi hacking in a MW and stop arsons completely would be beneficial to you as well, if you prefer money over CE growth.

edit: actually, quoting from this post:

so, in your case, bank is still better for a little longer, if you are still at around 30-35 NNB.
for OP, not only fbi is the best choice for income, but also for CE.

I agree completely on going all in on hacking or not doing them at all. If people want "the best of both worlds" they really should be looking at it in longer terms than the next couple weeks. There's only 1 thing meat warehouses are really good for. Hacking. Join a meat warehouse, do nothing but hacking, THEN switch to a company that isn't only useful for hacking, and do your CE crimes there.

Although I would also personally recommend people to rush to 60 nnb before they start hacking, for bigger nerve refills and less wasted nerve regen.

I would also like to point out that the 10k intelligence being given above is not accurate for FBI hacking.
Not sure exactly what the requirement is, am testing with players in my meat warehouse - one with 12k int is only getting blues or red fails. Those with 15k+ are getting greens and reds.
Player with 13k is just finishing off hit educations... but the requirement is somewhere over 12k and up to 15k.

I'll ask them to try some bank hacking too, in case that one has lower intelligence requirement.

I can attest to the fact that the intelligence modifier is probably really small. It’s definitely not a requirement to hack (EDIT: hack the fbi that is). I started with sub 10k intelligence and 35 nnb enjoyed a healthy success rate.
