TRL-URT Dates clashing

So I’m really confused why anyone would run an event that will clash dates with an event of the same type then pushing one of the events back rather than race on any of the 6 other days in the week? Im not sure if its due to something that cannot be changed but if that is the reason then why run two events of the same that clash and cause one to postpone? If there isnt something that is stopping the event from being ran on another day, why not move the race dates of one event so you dont postpone races here and there for an event of the same kind?

Just doesnt make sense to happily run two events of the same kind without making sure the dates dont clash or that they can both be ran without clashing? Why not run TRL on another day of the week so it wont clash with URT without restricting people who want to be in both?

TRL is a player-run tournament, they don't have dates for URT when TRL started.

And even if they do, whats the problem in waiting a few weeks?

URT is organized by Torn, but all races are mostly hosted by people also participating in TRL. So if you just continue with TRL, those stewards will have to miss races.

Just have some patience :)

We avoid clashing with other tournaments as much as possible:

Why does another day not work for TRL:

1) Stewards for TRL are also stewarding URT
Without stewards no TRL race possible.

2) URT runs daily if you make it through
We do not want people qualifying for URT, missing out on a TRL race

During URT there are people who qualify, a lot of them participate in TRL too, if we then just switch days to the week it would mean they would have to forfeit their TRL race since URT runs daily during the main event. People not being able to join TRL due to having a URT is not our intention as TRL organisors.

2) Practicly all stewards in the bigger player run tournaments are the same people..., meaning they will be seting up races for URT, since all these player run tournaments are only possible thanks to these people it means we want them to be able to participate if they want too.

Why did we decide to start a TRL season that overlaps with URT:

1) TRL is 16 races over 16 weeks, that equals to a total of 4 months.
It is nearly impossible not to have TRL overlap with another tournament. If we just look at the math for each tournament

TRL 2 seasons in a year = 8 months
JLT 2 seasons in a year = 4 months

Those 2 already make up for 1 year of racing, while for JLT there is a daily race meaning no stewards available.

Only alternative would be like Jairyll mentioned above to have less tournaments

Thank you Prezze for a response that gives actual information and not people thinking im impatient (quite the opposite) or that im ungrateful.

The clarity on why the races clash and why there isnt a date move for TRL as its once a week unlike URT is great. All my questions answered. However, if theres a clash like this with other community racing events like URT then surely there could be a better spacing of these events or just not have TRL ran due to its clashing with multiple events. We have multiple race events in game that take up plenty of time already so maybe we dont need any more?


If not and it is left to run as it is no matter what it clashes with then can you make sure it is stated clearly that other events will be put before this one and that multiple dates will be postponed etc so we know before we join or we could race more than once a week to stop this from running for so long and clashing with multiple events like it does? Dont think i would have bothered to join if i knew its priority was behind everything else. Every TRL race you skip is another week that needs to be added because its only a race a week unlike URT rather than just race every other day or twice/thrice a week to shorten this long event.


Just irritated me that i worried i forgot a race which turned out to be postponed causing it to skip my mind the following week and now its just silly to wait weeks for 1 race while a WHOLE other race event is started and finished while we miss large chunks of racing as its once a week not once a day. Makes more sense for URT to not race Sunday while TRL is on as URT is every day and TRL is once a week so URT can wait 1 day to race again rather than all TRL wait weeks just for 1 race. Doesn't make sense to me that URT comes before TRL when TRL is once a week not every day and starts before URL so TRL should be given priority to run its 1 race a week while URT takes the other 6?

Start a Tournament of your own and let's see how difficult it would be for you to satisfy everyone.

Appreciate the stuff that these kind people do. A month ain't going to change anything. If anything, your RS will increase with the amount of races you would have entered and give you a much better chance of winning races for your team.

As stated above, URT is a Torn official tournament. Also, the title of the URT, 'Ultimate' should have given you a clue that it is the mother of all racing tournaments in Torn.

You sound super entitled here and I suggest you think carefully about your next actions. Might be beneficial for you to just drop out of TRL if it is as annoying as you say.
