I think it would be fun if there was a 'War Chat' that contained all members of both sides in the ranked war. It should open the moment that a war is declared and close 24 hours after the war ends. It would be a fun place for banter and a healthy amount of friendly toxicity. It might be necessary to put the chat in slowmode in order to limit annoying spam.
