What's better than a Torn Podcast? A whole network of them

I am pleased to announce the 3rd installment in the Torn Underground Network.....

Women of Torn!

I present to you your newest hosts, Jairyll and Glandem!

They plan on biweekly episodes

Here is a description by Glandem-

"We're going to be talking to women of Torn about their experiences as women in Torn. We'll pursue wide-ranging topics that include gender, but also go beyond gender because we think Torn is filled with amazingly interesting people doing all kinds of things.
We believe that people can and should make positive change in the world. Be the bomb you throw."

I know there's the whole joke of there being no women on Torn, or the internet in general, but the reality is women do play torn, they are here, and I am super excited for this show to give further perspectives and ideas, as well as bring more women to the table of podcasting.

The first episode of WOT (women of torn) will be released in a few days and is an interview of 2 women faction leaders:
Silver_Rose & Natty_Boh

Glandem and Jairyll have both been incredibly supportive of the work TheFelan and myself have been doing, and I couldn't be happier to welcome them to the Torn Underground creative team!

As with the Introduction of Paul's Tuesday Talks, you will be able to find WOT (women of torn) where you listen to Torn Underground already!

I met a lot of women in every faction and.
Ngl I get along a lot better with female players than with male players.
Female players are more forgiving and open-minded, male players can unexpectedly be a backstabber. (From my experience.) But some male players are really cool.

To be honest, among the top players, I don't see a difference between the men and women players.

With apologies to Tolstoy -- happy players are all alike; every unhappy player is unhappy in their own way. And among the very unhappy players in Torn, the men and women behave quite differently.

Perhaps the biggest difference between men and women players is their comfort level with being the outsider. The women who stay in Torn are perfectly ok with being the only woman in a discussion. This does not mean women are better at it, they just find themselves in the situation more often. There's nothing like a group of veteran women forming in global chat to make half the men flee the conversation.

As far as actual game play though, men and women players are equal. For over a year, the most active player was female. Highest number of crimes across all crimes types, female. Several top players for carrying political assassinations are female.

I've also seen some true beast chainers who were female. Woman are on committee, on staff (and officers) and lead top factions. (and yes, even top ten for karma)

In fact, the only place you don't see women is in the top ten battlestats. Alexstrasza ranks #13. The HoF ranks dexy as #29, but that's not by battlestats alone.

I have my fingers crossed about how it goes in terms of people being jerks to Jairyll and I.

My guess is, and I will admit that I am spitballing here, there's a higher barrier for entry for women. Those of us who persist do fine, but the proverbial "leaky pipeline" is hella leaky at the outset.

Anyway, congratulations to the both of you. I'm know it'll be great. I may even try to get around to listening in myself, though if it's anything like my television viewing habits the odds are I won't get around to it until it's been off the air for at least two decades.
