This is an RP that me and Skel have been thinking of as of which you can see our discussion in the general RP chat hub. But yeah. This is an RP that we’ve been planning for all of two days? I think and I’m kinda committed to making it work.

The map will be the same as the original RDR2 map.
So. Blackwater and Saint Denis being the major cities,
the island in red on the right is the prison. Then there’s
the smaller towns such as Strawberry and Valentine
dotted about. If you want a more detailed view on the
map above just search up “RDR2 map”

Anyways. Our gang, {insert gang name here}
Will be starting off in the outskirts of Saint Denis
in an abandoned old mansion, used back in the
civil war. Two years before, it was cleared out by
another gang that apparently set up there before
fleeing after being chased by government agents
and leaving the building with scarce protection except
a few rifles. Then we came along about a year before
and have been using the place as our main hideout.
{image will be put here soon}

Further details pending.
character Temp optional.

This thread is open
so if you wanna join,
join!

ps if you wanna have a law enforcement character,
message me. And I may give it the auth. Just saying
though, most people, I am trying to get onto the gang.
if you would like to be law too tho. That’s fine if you arent
Worried of getting confused.

I like the idea, I'm going to see if I can come up with an angle (and a character) to join in. Just a thought, feel free to kill it if you don't like it: How about approaching it from two sides? A group that will write from the gang's pov and a group (or perhaps only two people) writing from the law's pov, like the sheriff?
LunaKimXo [2738137]
{could go with 2 so it’s less conflicting. Or. MOC? Multiple characters? So if you wanted to be in the gang but also have another character being a law officer?}
Skellington [2671472]
Yes, I agree. Two would be the max. Those two could easily control others in case of a confrontation, if there is going to be one with more than two people of the law involved at all.

I've never tried having two characters in the same story. Seems quite hard to me, especially when they are on different sides. Do you have any experience with that?
LunaKimXo [2738137]
I do quite and I don’t mind having a character on each side of the fence. It’s literally just like having 1 character but when you wanna write from the others’ perspective, put down a marker or something like this.

Frederick dismounted Sadie, his beloved black horse, and led her to her stall in the old stable. He removed the saddle bags, filled with food and drinks, unsaddled her and gave her a firm brush. He then lovingly patted her neck, a caress she answered with a soft stroke of her nose against his outstretched hand. It conjured a brief smile on his face. At least she was not prejudiced, nor did she judge him, something that couldn’t be said from just about every human being on the planet. Which was exactly why he rather trusted Sadie than any human being. Except, perhaps, for Violet. She managed to gain his trust, no small feat, by simply being herself. Much like his horse, Violet too had never judged him, not even when he told her the reason why he joined the gang. Instead she simply supported him and offered to lend him a sympathetic ear and a shoulder to cry on whenever he needed it.

Frederick filled Sadie’s manger with hay and closed the gate of her stall. He walked along the dirt path towards the ramshackle mansion the gang had occupied earlier. He chuckled. Not much of a home by any standard, yet it felt more like home than anywhere else he had stayed in the past decades. He wildly opened the old oak door, eliciting a loud creak from its rusty hinges. ‘I’m home!’ he yelled, as he ran up the stairs to his room located at the front side of the house. He liked to be able to see who was approaching beforehand rather than being surprised afterwards. He removed his two Colt lightnings from their holster and put them within reach on the side table before crashing on the bed to rest. He was curious to hear if anyone was home. He checked his silver pocket watch. It was still early, perhaps everyone was still out on the prowl.

Name: Terry
Sex: Male
Age: 32
Camp Job: The cook.

Outfit: Cook's uniform usually. He has been known to wear a dark brown duster if there is mess to be made.
Weapon: A large black cleaver. A collection of various knives for various cooking tasks.

Background: Recruited by the gang from a small pub in a back alley in Saint Denis.
As the head chef, it was clear that Terry had skills in managing provisions, and for keeping his cool while violence broke out all around him.

He was drawn to the idea of just cooking out in a quiet camp for the gang; and found that his share of spoils paid better than what he was used to.

He's been with the gang for around 7 months and finds a great joy in seeing everyone sat around camp at meal time.

_____ _____ _____ ______ _____

Terry was sat in the temporary kitchen he had set up in the large dining room.
Seeing as the kitchen was gutted he figured he may as well set one up here.

From outside he heard the clatter of hooves followed by a quiet thump.
The clattering of weapons that followed was a telltale sign of who it was.

"Ah. Queen's home."

After listening to a few more moments of busy work outside, Terry scooped the last of the vegetables into the stew pot and began wiping his knives clean.

"I'm Home!" Queen announced before he thumped up the stairs.

With a chuckle to himself, Terry picked up a small plate with an assortment of sausage, jerky, fruits and a dollop of strawberry jam and made his way into the hallway and up the stairs to Queen's room.

After getting to the upper floor and having another short 'Leg rest', Terry caught his breath and knocked Queen's door.
The door swung open and Terry stepped into the room smiling.

"Why tha f**k you need this dang room atop these dang stairs eh? You finna kill me huh?

With a chuckle he laid the plate next to Queen and took another deep breath.

"Now. Eat that up now you hear me. Ya need to thicken up. Like me! Hah!

Terry slaps his belly and looks out across the mansion grounds.

"Tha horses got food enough? I dinna check earlier"

LunaKimXo [2738137]
Violet creeps up to the door and rests in the
frame, watching as Terry placed the plate down.

“The horses are fine Tey. Literally just
moved some hay out to them. Oh. And
i went into town. Got some of that venison
you wanted me to buy. Honestly. Saint Denis
its a beautiful city… but the corruption. I swear
if we base up in a building in that city, we could
have the damn place wrapped around our
fingers…”
Violet scoffed as she unholsters her pistol.

“Anyway. What have you two been up to so far?”
She smiles, before checking the mag of her gun,
spinning it, then putting it back into the gun and
holstering said weapon
Skellington [2671472]
Over the years, during his life as an outlaw, Frederick's senses had sharpened remarkably. Especially his hearing had developed to an exceptional level, something that had bought him valuable seconds to save his life many a times. He was able to determine the precise source of even the slightest sound just by interpreting the slightest details. His margin of error was an astonishingly low, in all those years he had been wrong just once. A costly mistake, that had left him with a huge scar on his back and an even bigger one on his ego, but one he had never made again.

So when he heard footsteps on the stairs, in his eyes the easiest noise to identify someone by, he recognized their maker immediately. They were hard to miss anyway, as the person climbing the stairs made absolutely no effort to hide their approach. Frederick immediately identified them by the pace, sound and force of their footsteps. The short pause in movement when reaching the top of the stairs was another sure indicator the one climbing the stairs was none other than Terry, their marvelous cook.

However, he had learned the hard way never to ignore any safety measure one could take, so he opened one eye and folded his right hand around the butt of one of his Colts. The darkened, almost black wood, smoothly polished by years of use, press against his palm. He pulled his left leg up and reached into the shaft of his boot with his thumb and index finger. Their grip on the cold steel of the throwing knife he always held tactically hidden in there was, as always, exactly right. All he needed to do was pull the knife out and throw it.

Due to his years of practice he didn’t need to take aim, he always hit the target. Never with fatal outcome, though. He merely deployed the knives to both distract and injure his opponent, which usually threw them off track long enough for him to take aim and shoot before they could. That, contrary to his knife throwing, usually did end in death. Not this time though.

The footsteps came to a halt right outside Frederick’s door and immediately a loud knock on his door rang in his ears. The knock was so powerful, that the worn, lopsided door swung open, leaving scratches in the already battered wooden floor. Terry’s familiar large frame filled the doorway, and with him the glorious scent of freshly baked meat filled the entire room. Terry had brought food!

Frederick relaxed his right hand and lowered his leg while Terry teasingly expressed his displeasure that Frederick had chosen the room on the very top floor to be his. He smiled shyly, as he felt somewhat embarrassed that Terry had to suffer from the suspiciousness and delusion of persecution he had developed in his teens. He wondered how many others out there had suffered from his whims, or probably still did.

While Terry chuckled and stepped inside to place the plate on the bed stand next to his Colt, Frederick heard someone else approach. This time the footsteps were way more subtle. A careful, thoughtful pace, with lightly treading feet that hardly seemed to touch the ground beneath them. Again he had no problem identifying the person approaching his room. This was Violet. There was no way this was someone else. He’d recognize her, to him, characteristic step anywhere. Confirmation followed as a slender figure appeared in the doorway and then leaned against the door frame. She started talking and her soft, soothing voice filled the room.

‘Thanks, Terry,’ Frederick said, after Violet had greeted them and asked them what they had been up to. ‘You’re the best!. You know exactly what an outlaw needs after getting home from an exhausting trip.’, he continued as he eagerly reached for the well-filled plate. He smiled at the sight of the well-prepared food, carefully picked a piece of sausage and dipped it in the strawberry jam. ‘And hello Vi, aren’t you a sight for sore eyes today.’ he said, knowing how she'd react to the cheesy remark. He cast her a warm smile and took a bite off the piece of sausage before answering her.

‘I’ve been up to no good as always. I was on a reconnaissance mission to check for law enforcement in the area and I ran into a very friendly, yet rather naive traveling merchant who happily donated the contents of his purse for the good cause. Us.’ Frederick’s smile widened. ‘As of now we’re the proud owners of the lovely sum of five hundred and seventy six US dollars.’ he added as he held out the plate offering both Violet and Terry to grab a bite as well.

Terry grabbed a slice of jerky, folded it, and stuck it under his tongue to 'marinate in his juices' as he liked to say.

He also needed to calm down after violet's creeping about scared him half to death.
Not that he would admit that.

"Five seventy six bucks huh?"

Terry's tongue slapped his palate as he swallowed a mouthful of beef flavoured spit.

"I keep telling ya violet. We could get us a quiet little bar in the city somewhere and ain't no-one gonna bother us no more".

Terry paced in front of the window which caused the floorboards to creak agonizingly beneath him.

I can make the booze and food work. I know a couple of gambling types who could run a little VIP room. Plus the moonshine trade is booming. We could have it all. And...you twos can just do what ya want and use the place as a hideout.

Terry stops and leans back onto the window sill; which also groans beneath him.

"I's just saying. Gotta look legit to stay in the game long term"

Terry looks thoughtful for a moment, chews the jerky, and swallows it.

"You didn't buy that venison from Sid near the station did you? That motherf**ker is as greasy as they come. I KNOW he don't sell any meat but damn croc meat labelled as sumin else. Tell me you didn't buy off of that slimy bastard violet, please?"

Terry wrings his hands before him and looks at violet with pleading eyes.

LunaKimXo [2738137]
Violet Blushed and winked to Fred as he made the remark
”Aren’t I always? And well done. Good haul!”

She then put her hand up when offered the food
”im alright thanks. Not very hungry at the moment”
Violet then went quiet as Terry got a little annoyed.

“Nope. I know that cause you told me about him once before.
I think? Either you or sumn else. And as for the bar. You can
do that because you aren’t well known within the laws mind.
whereas me and him…”
She pointed to Queen

”If we settle down in public for too long, someone is bound to
recognise us. That’s the problem with law folk. Especially that
one woman. Wh~ what’s her name. Ainsley or something? I
cant remember. But still. She has a damn grudge against us”
V smiled. It then slowly faded as she looked out the window into
the emptiness of the main front area outside.

”I’m gonna go back into town… there’s something I have to do”
she said with haste then nodded and got to the stairs before
running down them and through the building, out the door,
to her horse, of which she embarked then dashed off into
the surrounding woodlands
Afrit [1615326]

Terry watched as violet disappeared through the door and became a thumping on the staircase.

He could never get a read on Violet's thoughts, but he was pleased that she took his advice and avoided Sid.

He turned to Queen and chuckled.

"I'll let you in peace now and get a meal ready for later. Oh, and the ammo stash is restocked. I got some in earlier"

Giving Queen a quick wink, Terry made his way downstairs and into the kitchen.
With a heave he lifted up the cast iron pot of stew and took it outside to his cooking fire.

All around him was nature's great pantry. Each bird overhead, each beast in the brush, each horse who strayed too far from its master was simply begging to be paired with a fruit sauce and good wine provided by Queen's generous clientele.

Once the pot was sat upon a good flame and was simmering merrily, Terry covered it and went to a small wooden table, with a huge brown duster lain over a small repeater, atop it.

Terry didn't know nothing about guns and names. So he dubbed this one "Rabbit poker".

Pulling his great brown duster on and slinging Rabbit poker over his arm, Terry thumbed the ammo box in his coat pocket and gave a contented sigh.

"Alright then. Let's see what you have for us today lord"

And so Terry set off into the woodlands and surrounding grassland to check on the traps he set and to poke rabbits, birds, hedgehogs and just about any poor little creature that happened into his view.

Skellington [2671472]
Frederick was about to reply to Violet's remark about them being too well-known to ever settle somewhere, but before he could even open his mouth, she was gone. She had been staring out the window and suddenly ended their conversation to storm off, mumbling something about having something to do. He pushed himself up on one elbow and looked out the window in the same direction as just Violet had. There was nothing to see except for the fields and, further away, the sand plain. Nothing out there could explain her sudden leave. 'What in the world was that about?' He thought to himself. 'Would that have anything to do with Ash Cassidy by any chance? But why now?' He didn’t get it.

Frederick jumped up from the bed and stepped towards the window were Terry had stood and commented on Violet’s leave from just moments ago, but found nothing but dust and emptiness. He heard Terry’s characteristic heavy tread fade as he descended the stairs and, after rummaging around in his kingdom for a bit, went outside. He leaned out the window and saw Terry wander out into the fields, the old repeater, he had baptized ‘rabbit poker’ within reach.

The sight made Frederick smile. Good old Terry, they were so very lucky to have him on their team. He was always around and always willing to prepare a good meal or some tea. On top of that he had a knack for getting his hands on high quality liquors and wines. Frederick made a mental note to try and figure out what he could gift Terry to show his appreciation for the big man. He had discussed getting him another, better rifle, but he had never figured out what Terry thought about that. He assumed he and his rabbit poker were inseparable. He'd figure something out eventually though.

With both Terry and Violet gone, Frederick was alone with his thoughts. He absentmindedly chewed on a piece of jerky as he pondered on Violet’s hasty retreat. If it hadn’t been for her rather peculiar remark about their adversary, the law woman whose name she knew all too well, he would have thought nothing of it. She had always been hard to grasp at times. He didn’t know any better, she had been that way ever since he had met her, or was it the other way around?

Either way, he actually liked her mysterious side. It made her less predictable and he knew she would never do anything to bring harm to herself or the gang. This time though, he felt slightly worried about her. Something was off. Not knowing where exactly she went, the town was pretty large, made it impossible for him to go find her. Plus, he knew she wouldn’t appreciate him doing so anyway. If she had wanted help, she would have asked for it. Or would she? He grabbed his food and went downstairs to make some tea, feeling the gnawing sense of unrest in his stomach growing stronger by the second.
