So, looking at weapons... I see there's "damage" and "accuracy" which makes sense, but how does the "quality" come in to effect? Is it an overall buff/nerf? Does the quality go down with time? When looking to buy a new weapon, should one favor higher damage or higher quality?

Thanks.

Quality

The Quality (displayed as a percentage value) that each weapon displays is essentially a combination of the weapon's Damage and Accuracy, with a score that reflects the range of its potential in each stat. 50% of the weight is assigned to Damage and 50% to Accuracy.

Quality is an overall figure and could just be used as a guidance!

Different people will have different opinions on whether they prefer better damage or better accuaracy!
Personally I would prefer to hit more often and do a little less damage, rather than miss occasional doing no damage!

Try not to get too deep into specifics, some people could throw sheets and guides at you stating why you should do this, why you should do that!

Enjoy, take your time to learn some basics, read a few of the basic guides (especially baldrs) Baldr's Basic Advice

Also, based on earlier developer replies, apparently accuracy is more prevalent than damage in weapons - I personally choose accuracy myself, but if someone has a billion dexterity then you will do f**k all regardless. Quality is a good way to see your weapon compared to other weapons - though it can have (for example) 1-2% quality difference and a variation of damage or accuracy (higher or lower figures) and you can decide based on those specific weapons.

For example, 58.2% Q with 45.22 A and 46.23 D versus 60.39% Q with 49.24 A and 45.21 D - you have overall higher stats, but do you feel like sacrificing damage for accuracy or vice versa?

At the end of the day, like the billion example, if you have an equal:equal matchup in everything else, your weapons CAN carry you to a win, in the battle or at least holding your own easier - so the choice is yours regardless.

Had a private chat with the OP about weapons and other stuff, generally day one don't get too involved with the ins and outs of everything you see,
The game can be overwhelming on day one to some,
OP is now in my old faction and has been loaned combat/flex armour, along with armalite/dbk etc
No need to worry about the quality of those compared with a one day old wearing leather and using a dagger

Note that quality only compares within the same weapon/armor type, while damage/acc/armour rating compares across all weapons or armor.

So e.g. a 90% quality plastic sword is still terrible compared to a 0.5% quality diamond bladed knife, and you can see that because the plastic sword will have a damage rating of about 5 and accuracy of about 30, while the DBK will have a damage and accuracy rating of over 60 each.
