I thought you needed the rs-232 cable to hook up a hard drive to your computer for writing a virus.
You only need a computer or laptop, as well as the necessary Computer Science education to write a virus. You can start writing a virus by using the laptop/computer in your inventory if you have the necessary education done.
Off-topic but RS232 cables do not work like that in real life.
