Hi guys, this is my very first post so I hope it is good enough, I'll certainly do my best. I am writing this because I read every post about racing and couldn't find the information I will present here, a complete step by step guide of the best upgrades to buy in each class with the idea of reaching Class A as soon as possible and being able to keep racing afterwards.

There are already guides out there about helping you to make it to class A as fast as you can, grab your merits and quit. For example this excellent guide by Madmiketyson [979994]. But as he says from the start, this is a guide intended only for getting your merits as soon as possible and it will make it difficult to keep racing after reaching Class A, because you spent all your points getting there.

But what if I want to keep racing after reaching class A and still do it as fast as I can? Well, that's what I wanted to find out. I wanted to know exactly what to do in each class, how to spend my points optimally, I wanted a recipe.

In a reply in his excellent racing guide Baldr [1847600] says the following "The ratio of stats gained per point spent is the #1 thing I look at". That made total sense to me in order to optimize the spending, so thanks to his amazing spreadsheet I could do just that. And the following is the recipe that I devised for myself based on the information he provided. This recipe has the goal of reaching Class A with exactly 266 points to be able to fully upgrade a car (I'm not doing Uprated Gaskets as it only gives 1 safety point).

So, I divided each class in two columns, the ideal path and the custom path. The ideal path requires you to have an exact amount of points at the beginning of each class, if you start racing today and you don't wreck your car (losing upgrades) you can just follow the ideal path blindly. But if you already started racing and you have less points than required you could use the custom path, where the upgrades are presented in order of priority by their ratio. The idea is to use the custom path to get back to the ideal path.

So for example, you reach Class C with with 78 points instead of the optimal 84, you can just skip the last 2 upgrades that are 3 points each, that way after you finish Class C you will have the 171 points required to go for the ideal path in Class B.

WARNING: If you have less points than needed for the ideal path go for the custom order. In fact always go for the custom order just to make sure because the upgrades are sorted from best to worst. The ideal path is NOT the right order to get the upgrades, just makes it easy to find them, the correct order is ALWAYS shown in the custom column.

So here it is:

The order inside a ratio is up to you, I chose this order for me, but it is important to respect the order of the ratios if you have fewer points than needed. I won't discuss cars because there are already a lot of guides about that, if you are interested in knowing the ones I chose let me know and I will share that info.

Ok guys, I really hope that this can be of help to someone, don't be too harsh on me if I made a mistake, the whole point is to help those starting out, so if you can point out something that can be improved please let me know.

Excellent Simplified Racing Guide! Highly Recommend to Everyone. R+
No need to go through long ass overwhelming spreadsheets and struggle in deciding what to upgrade is best while being cost effective. Blindly go for the ideal build as mentioned, spend least possible points needed to advance and get those racing merits in no time.

Is the list in any particular order? I just got to class A and went after the "ideal build" but unfortunately I had enough points only for up to the transmission parts, however I did get strip out as well, so all that is left for me is Weight reduction and Wheels, hope I didn't miss anything important..

Edit: Got it, reading is hard, specially in the morning lol

Thanks for the clean and straight forward guide :)

Mono, if you have less points than needed you should go for the custom, that's in order of priority. From best to worst.

so I raced at the beginning then I realised it wasn't worth the time, I'm trying to get the merits now but I have 0 points available as I used them all when I was an idiot.

I'm losing all the races, how can I get some points?
