And yes as said, we do have many green leaf which meant its gonna be very hard for us but we needed the numbers (despite the risk), to have a chance at diamond rank.
I'm sure you have your excuses for losing your war back then as well, which I'm not interested in.
It's just pretty awkward for YOU out of all people to be acting high and mighty tbh .
We didn't spend as much (way less actually) as we do care more about making money than "winning" as for us winning means making money. Obviously your objective was different and you employed all the strategy needed to win. So would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on achieving your goal. I would definitely preferred to win ofc but I just don't understand the need to be salty as per OP. .
Theres two ways to look at this war, your narrow minded way Pimp and the right way.
Did NPO win this war with the help of turtling help of mercs, if YES how would this turn out without mercs?
I find it extremely pathetic to being overdramatic like you always are.
Stop cheering up noobs who needs help from outside to pull off a underdog win. When these noobs can pull it off by their own activity, make a thread about it. Until then, stop making a fool out of yourself.
In Platinum, everyone we've fought seriously has used outside merc hits to hospitalize offliners. It's a valid strategy and helps you avoid bonuses that people who went offline without extending their hosp time would have lost you. It also gives them Early Discharge if you set it up before the war and they can pop out of the hospital whenever needed. Mercs are not the only means of turtling we did and I personally only got hit overnight during the war while asleep and only once per night because I used failing a crime or a SED whenever possible.
However, no victory is guaranteed with defensive mercs. You have to actually put in the effort and organization to make that win happen. Defensive mercs don't make you gain score or help you in pushes against a stronger opponent. SCC was also turtling their players when they were offline or unavailable, which contributed to how long it dragged out. Plenty of factions that you would not describe as noobs have also used mercs.
How would the war have gone without either side using mercs? It's hard to say. They had more than a few people with stats that stand far superior to ours at this point. We had larger group attack possibilities with more actual members rather than greenleaf boosts. They had their inactive times and we had our times when Shaz was online and there wasn't much we could do with him bopping everyone nonstop. When one side was pushing, the other was self-hosping or having their offliners merced. This largely left everyone on both sides relying on bonus hits to make up score. War isn't a matter of "the best mercs win the day". Mercs may contribute massively to avoiding bleeding score, but it does actually take work from the faction in question to reach that victory.
Please don't discount the work a faction puts in to achieving that score by stating that mercs are the only way you can win.
Didn't understand it the first time and I still don't understand it now... Mercs are a massive tactic in EVERY ranked war & nobody can tell me any different.
They used mercs because you used mercs. Its not that hard to understand. The same do I apply, If my enemy uses mercs so will I, if my enemy isnt using mercs, I wont either. So you wanna brag about winning a underdog win, then make sure you actually win it by your own hand and not by being carried by mercs.
Remember when you tried mercing to help Helios against us and instead handed us the victory? Is that why you don't like mercs? Couldn't pull off the strategy yourself?
I see a lot of discussion here about mercs winning the war. Mercs can never help you "win" the war... at best they help you to stem the loss. The way the RW system is designed you cannot win just by not losing points... you can only win by gaining more points than your opponent. To gain points, you need a well-thought strategy & an effective attacking plan.
And NPO did that - they stemmed bleeding points effectively by hiring PT Mercs & at same time, scored points over their opponents with good tactic & plan. They fully deserve all the credit for this win.
Classless in victory, one of the worst traits a person could have.
GG's to NPO, from a nub point of view, what i did notice quite a lot was PT mercs would be in and out of an attack before i even managed to get in, which from what i was following in chats, was the issue, trying to line up bonus hits against 3 or 4 PT mercs at once, sometimes when we manage to win a hit, we would try to quick land 3-4 chain hits to secure a bonus, this wasnt always achievable in the 30s before the timer runs out, which then left us short against the NPO blood baggers (who deserve a lot of credit for their last second self hosp)
And for yesterdays 2 x 500 chains, right at bonus hits there was massive amounts of lag which we all suffered from, which hampered us.
As well as flipping 3 of our members to switch off revives and paying 1 member s8r's to flip and med out for you at your bonuses.
All things considered, you employed the right tactics and deserve credit for that, but without the help of PT mercs, i doubt you would of won, their speed was the difference to us landing bonuses.
Those weren't mercs. That was HT itself raiding on behalf of its semi(maybe)-subfaction. Helios got an early lead, but we turned it around overnight. We didn't think we could take them during the day since they had the stat and activity advantage, and to be honest we were going to throw in the towel. We always try to at least get some licks in before going down, and we had done just that.
But before we could call it a day and congratulate Helios on their win and a good fight Mastermind over here hit the raid the button. He gave Joe some spiel about how he had invested a fortune into Helios and how we weren't going to deny them the win. He swore he'd destroy us and raid us every single time we warred. Joe gives him the famous "die mad" line and we go full screw-it and win. D3vl hit us so much Helios had no targets to farm, and we just used the ED mechanic to get out, hit Helios, and then wait for D3vl to make it impossible for them to retaliate. Frankly, he did more to win that war for us than we did.
So I suppose the moral of that story is this joker doesn't have a clue what he's talking about when it comes to war. NPO, regardless of whatever past we have with them, are top-notch fighters. They're in Platinum for a reason, and it isn't just mercs. They know warring better than most, and I'd bet on them over any sorry cache farming operation D3vl might be running in the future. I mean, this is the same guy who couldn't manage more than 4k damage in a raid after an entire week.
Anyway, D3vl, where's that raid you promised? We've been waiting over a year for your retribution. Is your plan to kill us with boredom?
