Another Idea of mine. Lets have multi table tournaments where you have to earn your way to the final table and a World Series of Torn poker event loosely based on the World Series of Poker where winners get honor bars instead of bracelets. What do ya'll think? What other prizes could be done in a world series of torn poker event?

That is an awesome idea!
MTT's would require a chunk of players at the same time.
As it stands the tournament tables are barley used at the moment.
It's a great idea, but it probably wouldn't work until a time where there is a lot more people playing poker more frequently
But on this suggestion - if added , bounties would be cool also ;) (knockout poker)

This gets posted about every other week. :)
It would be great but the client just isnt set up for it. Would love the ability to have scheduled(not ad hoc) actual MTT's (set up 2-3 a day or something)
Edit: I saw oscar posted in a 3 month old thread haha.

I'm good with the idea being revived because I want to really see it happen. I think I'll post this in the suggestion forum and see if we can get it to 250 likes. Any help ya'll can give to get it there would be appreciated.
I think people would show up if it was an official torn event with tokens on the line and bracelets in the form of honor bars on the line as well.
Not really, not that many poker players on torn. It would be a game of mass bingo unfortunately
I do love the idea and wanted to suggest it myself before so cudos for doing so
But right now I just feel like - IF they did bring it out, we would just be waiting for tables to fill or start like we do with tourneys now
But keep pushing it, and yes I also would love if it attracted more people to play poker. It would be a fun experience on here :P

It would have to be scheduled times for sure. It couldn’t be ad hoc signups.

I don't know about everyone else, but I'd be willing to donate towards a new engine if need be.
If it was an event with honor bars and tokens on the line, I think people would show up. As far as on a daily basis, I believe the player base is there and would support it.
Poker is half skill and half luck because no matter how good you are at knowing when to call and fold, the cards still have to come and sometimes they just don't. That's why those with less experience and skill win at the irl World Series of Poker from time to time. The luck factor is real.
I think a one million dollar buy in so that new torn players that are just unlocking poker can afford to enter. Also, Poker can be opened to all the week of the event as like a free trial for those that aren't high enough level yet.

I get the sentiment, but if you let the top 10 play in a 2-5m tournament *with rebuys* we're going to have monster stacks. This is all moot talk until the engine can handle it, so no point digging too deep.
I disagree with the most prestigious tournament being such a small entry, but we can get into that later if this ever materializes.
I will agree with you that low-to-no skilled players will have very little chance of every winning those merits so they should be done smartly. Maybe just playing in it alone should do it.
