    A change like this should be followed with ability for people to sell back to system at purchase price. Otherwise thousands of users could be stuck in investments that are down and that will now take 3 months or 3 …

Hello, citizens and stock traders!

Wednesday at noon TCT (tomorrow), an update to stock price behavior will go live. Short-term volatility will be somewhat reduced. The direction of price movements will be unchanged, but the magnitude of changes will lessened.

More specifically, this update aims to reduce very-short-term rebounding of stock prices, a phenomenon on our stock market engine we've been monitoring for some time. This works both ways; a spike in price will not "rebound" down as easily. Mid-and long-term trends will be largely unaffected.


On a more minor note, the TCSE was about $60 higher than the sum of all stock prices. This will be fixed with this update.

A change like this should be followed with ability for people to sell back to system at purchase price. Otherwise thousands of users could be stuck in investments that are down and that will now take 3 months or 3 years to reach their target price instead of 3 days.

Tell me you're stuck in THS/TCM without telling me you're stuck in THS/TCM.

It's only about very-short-term rebounding of stock prices and he said mid- and long trends should largely remain unaffected, so if anything then only let players sell back at system price that bought in a stock the last few hours rather than days/weeks.

And what's going to be done about the users who were hit with short term spikes downward, and are now sitting in red?

We were betting on being able to ride a short term spike upward.

Am I reading it right when you are saying that only rebounding "up" of prices after crash will be much slower, but crashes that happen normally will still happen at the same rate?

With this update, can we please at least finally remove the stock fees now?

The effect works both ways; I've edited the original post to reflect this.
