I see that the restock quantity of beer was increased, when consumption was only just barely exceeding supply, circulation almost 90 million and Tequila and Champagne were easily capable of filling any unmet needs.

Meanwhile, smoke grenades and tear gas are in a true shortage condition yet restock was left at only 100. Smokes in particular have risen to the point where they are nearly twice as profitable to import as Xanax. Is this desirable? I think not.

I'd have left beer restock at 1000 and let the market cope with any shortages (which it was doing nicely), but increased smoke and tear gas restock to 1000 to match other overseas consumables and allow demand to be met.

You want to mitigate the supply and demand aspect of the game? There are tons of players who love doing market speculation and scalping prices of things and I'm included in that group.

This will just make the game less interesting. There are more wars going on in Torn right now than ever before. Prices for war supplies should be skyrocketing. Take advantage of these events.

No, I am very much in favor of a Laissez-faire economy. I was merely questioning why staff felt the need to interfere with the beer economy, while leaving a much greater imbalance that exists in other commodities be.

The restock quantity of only 100 for smokes and tear gas is certainly inconsistent with other consumable commodities. Even steroids restock 1000 at a time.

There's a thread every few months asking for the restock quantity of beer to be increased, and this has been going on since I started playing. Meanwhile, temps are only in short supply during times of huge wars, or attacking events, therefore they don't get near as much attention.

So in regards to you "questioning why staff felt the need to interfere with the beer economy, while leaving a much greater imbalance that exists in other commodities be." It's because the player base has been repeatedly asking them too....for years now.

The beer supply change coincided with crimes 2.0 in which nerve limits are increased and beer is now a salvageable item. The supply increase will likely be lowered over time as devs look into balancing the supply versus the market.

As far as the issue of war supplies making the investor richer, while warring parties spend vast amounts of treasure to continue their aggression? That's how the real world works, kiddo. That's how its worked for a thousand years. I think it's an appropriate feature that brings some realism into the game. You don't like it? Don't play the game.
