If you go to manage items you can move them up and down in the list by clicking and dragging the arrow thing on the left part.

if you put them where you want and leave at least 1 in there it will stay in that location, when you add more it will just adjust the value.
For example if you store your plushies in your display, and have 100 foxes. pull out 99 and the next time you add foxes they will just increment. Their location won't be moved to the top.
