this update is a massive spit in face for traders. Could at least let us know :/

Symbiotic Ltd gone wild in the red!

Oh, were you trying to grow your networth? I mean, you you could put your money in the market, but that's sorta risky, and you should expect the market to increase by a couple % per year but your own holdings to decrease by 2-3% per month consistently. So if you want more cash, you can hope that the stocks will MAYBE go up more than they go down in the next 24 months....

Ched please do see the stats of not just the amount of money or transactions happening in the stock market but also the general activity levels of your userbase especially those who used to dabble in stocks…

im sure there are many more like me who are getting bored of the game.. the island war might be giving you false pictures but once that’s over, you’ll realise that your game has literally gone to shit with nothing really captivating the interests of the big players…

but yeah why would you care, all you ever want is for new players to buy more and more DPs so you can keep making bank while the entire user base can F off

Just more taking from the user that is actually active and puts money in. Nice. See ya. I'll keep my sub for playing sake, but screw just donating my 'extra' into your wallets directly.

More volatility in an 90 year old's pecker.

Crazy to think the amount some stocks move over hours is what they used to move per minute. Makes me question

How drastically money making/ amounts invested changed. Because you surely wouldve known this to begin with, if you set originally volatility to be about x10 or even like x100 what it is rn tbh, your calculations on the effect on the economy must have been f**king awful.

Really curious to know more about the back end thought processes and explanations as a graduate business student and someone who has studied various modules/ read articles regarding things like this.

Not being pretentious I just think it should be done that our Economist shares some insights so the player base can help digest these changes if this is how you want your game to fizzle out, we are owed that much imo.

There was no back end thought process, period. Ched and co fukd the stocks rather than putting a solution in place to mitigate some of these large investment gains everyone suffers. Unfortunately, even with the amount of people seriously turned off by this adjustment and prob would/will quit, Ched has way too many active players for it even to make a dent into his wallet.

So instead we get new crimes to drop once a week that took how long to come out; that don't even scratch the surface for people to continue to grow financially. Instead we're stuck spending 3-4 nerve to make $1000. Fun times, thanks ched.

Lets not go overboard.. crimes 2.0 has been in the works for a decade, it's not been suddenly whipped up to distract everyone from the money they're losing in stocks.

They're also still very much at the noob end of releasing crimes. The old ones didn't give any more rewards than the new ones. Be patient.

I've been having the below standing here since this post was first made basically, but held back from posting it. Now that Euphoria has thrown in something that goes the same direction...;

It's due to the miscalculation of fund supply this would create. At least that's what would be strongly assumed by this move, but also simply by the way Stocks were moving generally. But then on the other hand I wouldn't get how the fact that when people can feasibly take beyond 60% APR didn't strike the bell right away - we had even more volatility at the start which then got drilled a bit, so the fact this happens again would also underline this claim. It really just makes me wonder how short-sighted the implementation of S3.0 must have been to require such measures down the line.

I've been talking about this with a couple of people ever since s3.0 was released.
Within the past two years, total cap on TCSE more than doubled already. Make your own conclusions. It's not an issue as long as just a couple select few have horrendous amounts of cash, but if you look towards an additional 140T being generated, with the prospect of this adding another 280T over the next two years among everyone involved, this is an issue. This thing should have never been implemented in this way in the first place.

Also, I think Punish3r is correct, there probably was no background thought process, because really, this doesn't go beyond 7th graders math.

funny how every legit revenue stream in the game got nerfed but the extremely dodgy RR rtm schemes are always left alone :D

big income companies (some cheap ones still give nice ROI though), stonks, bookie. heck, they even went above and beyond to close the gap for smoke grenade prices spiraling temporarily.

whales keep the servers going though
