Death's Door - Now Closing.

It's been a hell of a week!

First, a huge thank you from the whole of Death's Door leadership to our fantastic members. SO many of you stand out as absolute shining, stellar stars during this past week. We could not possibly list you all and I dare not try. You all put in so much time, dedication and hard work into every moment of this. Everything we did was for you, even if it didn't seem like it on the surface. Thank you for the laughs we all shared, the memes, the wonderfully cut sandwiches, the banter, ALL OF YOUR HITS!, your positivity and your willingness to keep on going. Thank you for absolutely everything.

I personally could not possibly thank Chingadera enough. What a hell of a human being and you are a gem. My personal right hand, my partner in crime. Chinga worked hard and endlessly for our team. You've been a huge light for me personally throughout this simply for the patience, the trust as well as the coaching that has been given to me. Absolute true team player.

Pyrit, your skills in, quite frankly, coding wizardy are incredible. You got our home, our little safe haven all set up with countless tools to get us through. You've been a massive asset to the team in so many ways even outside of your bots. Thank you for everything.

Spliffy, I'd have let you revive me so hard if I had put them on. I appreciate your trust and for you having picked me to join the leadership team. Your kindness has been incredible. Thank you!

Straight to the meat of it, a brief retelling of how it went down.

We started off in a 3v5 which shortly moved to a 4v4 then shortly thereafter moved to a 3v5 again after RHP made their second flip. We were left with few choices on how to avoid being socially outcast from elims and next on the chopping block. Because apparently that has an impact. After bringing an opportunity to the table that inevitably wouldn't last long, we decided we'd make the jump. No harm in trying, right? At this point, no elimination had yet taken place. With how the table was looking, morale was slipping. So we took the opportunity for our team so they could fight another day and get a big boost from this. CAPS was out soon after and FR were left on their own.

Turns out, joining the Mpact alliance wasn't really necessary as we weren't high on the list of priority targets. Not too far into us joining, we were gently let go or something to that effect and we were on our own. With FR and RHP being out soon, we knew it wouldn't be long for us.

Our fate seemed "decided" and it felt as though we had no hope to the top 4 due to that. We had a vote, decided to make a call to members that we were done negotiating, we were no longer accepting anything anyone else outside of the team offered. We thought we had exhausted all options and at that moment in time, we had. We'd done everything in our power at that point to try and make this fair for our team.

Soon after the announcement, there was a full on riot. Death's Door was NOT ready to walk it in and they wanted to FIGHT! like hell to the end. Ohadik put a plan into action with RHP to see if we could throw a wrench in somewhere, anywhere to prevent the final 2v2 from being successful as it looked to be planned. From there, we had a great time just letting our hair down a bit and working with RHP to chip some lives off of RE and cause some frustration. It worked.

All in all, for a team who mostly flew under the radar, we had a great run. We burned our initial allies which, honestly, didn't feel the best, personally. Sorry, guys. But in the end, elims are elims and things happen that don't always feel "nice" or "great" or "comfortable". We all step outside of ourselves a bit to become the person our team needs to try and achieve as close to victory as we can. All of it was done for our teammates. A good leader keeps in mind what's best for the group and I feel like in almost every step of the way, we did that.

**Death's Door Closed**

This will be a little long winded, so bear with me. No, Meanmike did not hack my account.

I included a TL;DR for those that just don't care.


- - - - - What I gathered had occurred. Some events may be missed. - - - - -

The following is my understanding of events. I did not talk to any leaders at any point leading up to this. I was merely council, just taking an advisor role mostly.

So the start was a little dicey. Tyranny Alliance took control of 4 teams right out of the gate, so everyone knew the competition would be "rigged" in their favor from the start. We found out very quickly, whether it was true or not, that it was supposedly Champion's (Hiveminds) year to win.

DD (our team), CLC, and FR convinced RHP to join us to have a 4v4 with the Tyranny Alliance, RHP inevitably flipped to their side and then a day later we (DD) flipped too to make it a 6v2, essentially throwing CLC and FR under the bus. It was a shitty thing to do, but at that time we were taking just as many hits if not more from those two as we were from the others, so it made sense as there was an overall sense of lack of cohesion between teams.

At some point on Wednesday, FR tried to convince DD, RHP and BS to come together to defeat the Tyranny Alliance, but BS declined and so Tyranny concluded that RHP had to go from the competition the moment FR got eliminated.

- - - - - Death's Door 2.0 Emerges - - - - -

By Thursday, things were looking dead set on Tyranny Alliance being successful in the "rigging" of the teams, winners, losers, and things were pretty much set in stone. That's when CHINGADERA made his post in our announcements "Moving forward there is no direction. You wanna fight? Go for it. Train and gain? Do it. Search the dump? @Ohadik [424017] loves trash.", our leadership was hanging up the towel.

I noticed a lot of players that still wanted to fight and keep things going. So I sent out a reminder announcement that people still had like 24 hours to get the top 5% merit, so keep attacking if that was the case.

And finally, that's where I decided; F that... It's not ending like this. For the most part, I had very little idea what had been going on between our former leadership and the other teams. So I figured if we are going to fight, it's now or never. Chingadera said it was useless, but let’s be honest, it's not up to JUST his opinion either. The effort was futile sure, but at least we go down swinging and letting bullets soar.

Shortly after I contacted Paul to see if he'd be interested in dragging one of the teams down from the top, I suggested BS since their total wins/net were the lowest. He said he'd talk to his council. He fired back saying that they were in only if we took down RE. I figured it's I take the offer or leave it to just die slowly, so I accepted.

From there pretty much everyone knows what happened. I listened to my team and its members, they had some pretty good ideas, many of them in their first elimination. Pesti showed up late to the party, but she didn't miss a beat... We adapted our approach a few times, and before I knew it, we had ovoxo asking our retired leaders to get our guys to stop attacking RE.

Um... No. ovoxo gave us the opportunity to join Tyranny for a better outcome, instead they just stuck to their own agreements and brick walled us with the silent treatment. With everyone looking to me for answers I really was not willing to bargain with them, especially after they blatantly deceived our prior leaders, and when they will not approach me directly. From what I gathered, they had a 2 vs 2 planned for the win, so that's why they were keeping their scores so balanced. At the time I didn't really know, I didn't talk to them. They never approached me.

While we were unsuccessful in eliminating RE, we still had a lot of fun doing what we did. Paul was great to work with. It was awesome to see how fired up all the players were getting. Our official leaders may have called the defeat, and they were right. But we still had some life left in us, still kicking ass and taking names.

It was great to give our guys the true elimination experience, fighting all the way to the end. It was also fun to show the little guys, some of them hopeless and defeated, what can happen with a little teamwork, thank you for picking your guns back up and taking the fight head on.

All in all, we turned a bummer around into a killer ending! Shoutout to Paul for agreeing to rekindle the original alliance. It was fun and most importantly we stayed in it ‘til Death's Door come.

Ohadik & -Pestilence- : I enjoyed our little eleventh-hour shakeup a lot. Yall went out swinging, and it was lovely to bring our councils together in our brief fight to bring RE down into the mud with us at the end. Ggs all around to your team, you have a lot to be proud of.

EDIT: yall took 443 tickets with you at the end! We at RHP were watching yall's final jump and rooting for you. Killer energy there.

No allies, back against the wall the whole way, you could say at deaths door throughout

Also managed to get the 5% merit finally which makes it sweeter

It was a pleasure fighting alongside you all. And although I didn’t make as many hits as I’d have liked due to rl shit, I enjoyed it immensely!

We got off to a bit of a rocky start but I think we were really galvanised there towards the end and think we honestly deserved a higher finish. But that’s the way the cookie crumbles.

Huge shoutout to Pesti on her debut as a lead! From day one she absolutely crushed it. Immense work ethic and dedication, as well as phenomenal people skills ranks her in the top handful of leads I’ve worked under so far. Ohadik, you were a beast too, and Ching - credit where credits due, great job (and the other behind the scenes leads).

More shoutouts to Guts, engin73er and the other discord regulars who kept spirits up and people motivated. A big shoutout to Pingu who single handedly made me self conscious by posting about 400 13 inch wangs on the nsfw channel.

This was a weird year where it wasn’t as intense in terms of being hospitalised and I think the teams were a lot more even. I have no idea which teams were strong, and which weren’t but I felt that when we focused on a team - they got wrecked, which was satisfying.

Huge shoutout to RHP too. You guys didn’t have to team up with us but you did and in turn made elim interesting. You guys were ferocious and it was a blast pummelling RE together. Its a shame we couldn’t wipe them out as that would’ve shook things up massively. Respect to you guys o7

To close, well done to all fellow DD’ers. You fought like warriors until the very end!

Finishing with over 400 tickets was badass, and the remaining teams can sit on a tombstone shaped phallus…

Fun to watch at the end. That was one epic push you guys made. Grats to all.

This was my first year that I've taken part in elim, I wish I had taken part in the past it was great fun.

Got to work on weapon experience and finishing hits while earning some tokens, 2 merits outa 4 and got 4th overall so definitely something to be happy about

I hope out casting yourselves as traitors was worth a couple extra tokens. And for those who think y'all deserve a better spot, you deserve dead f**king last for the betrayal you all did. At least us and caps stood true and firm to our loyalties, y'all didn't. You made your choice clear you can't be trusted at all, good lucking making deals in future elims to all of you, be sure no one will want to make any alliance with traitors.
