Scammer Alert

It was an investment discord with low to high risk betting options. Myself and a few others had dealings with him in the past and trusted him. He introduced membership fees and people could invest any amount they chose. Myself, stupidly did 400m, and a friend did 300m. Various other members of the discord also I vested what they chose which quickly brought the total to a higher amount. It was obviously a "long con". Just spreading the word so others don't suffer the same fate.

These were grabbed from the Discord server he hosted that had about 70-something players in there. He had been betting for players, for months.

100% either a Ponzi Scheme, or he was taking it to the RR table and eventually went broke.

Halloween will be fun for him.

how did he steal. i see everyone here is sending him money. Which is a mistake 99.9% of the time in torn. Sorry for your loss but that was a silly risk to invest trust and money into a player online.

At 143 days 400m can seem much. Dont ever trust anyone in torn, esp if you got a blue star - using your own money for torn.

This, 400m extra right now would make a major difference to my in-game life.

If it's truly nothing, I have a 400m hole in my pocket you're more than welcome to fill. RW faction or not.

As for new players trusting older more established players; torn is quite unique in embracing and encouraging this kind of behaviour. Imo there is no other game that has a similar mechanic that is as forgiving and that facilitates this for people like that.

It sucks, but first rule of torn is to trust no one, not even the player you made friends with on day one 10 years ago.

He was promising to double the money in a week...if he was that good at gambling why would he need anyone else's money? I have no love for scammers, but there was a massive failure of critical thinking to fall for such an obvious Ponzi scheme.

Only 5 times that?? My biggest losses was 92x thats in a day...im sure others have more

People still make threads about scammers? that’s pretty lame. Back in my day staff would say “scamming is legal, move on….” and GY it. Well to be fair I was that staff member, but I’m sure others thought about it Load image: grin
