I had this issue with iPhone on iOS 16.0.2 using Chrome browser, I cleared browsing data and chat is now appearing. EDIT: and now after 10 minutes it's disappeared again and I have only notes.

Same here. Nothing but notes. This has to get fixed before Halloween starts, even if it means putting the old chat back in use until this one is ready for prime time.
Incognito same issue, I tried signing from google app, on google it worked for a while then same issue.
Also exploring using discord links that redirect to torn, it has worked for me before but didn’t hold the session long enough to see if that one bugs as well.

Incognito brings it back
iPhone 12 mini, iOS latest, Safari incognito. Chat does not show up, just Notes. Closing browser and opening anew will restore chat but only for a few minutes. Navigating to any page will make chat disappear, leaving only Notes behind.
Also, when this happens, initiating chat with player from profile icon does not work.

Trust me, I want it solved faster than any other player. The trouble is that there's no reliable way to replicate the issue. The only common denominator that we have found is that this is happening on iPhone/iPad + Safari, BUT this is not happening for ALL iOS + Safari users.
It is a bit difficult to troubleshoot what is causing the issue in the first place. I have been using the chat on iPhone and iPad for 2 days without facing this issue. The devs are trying to reproduce the issue but have only managed to trigger it once during the testing, clearing the site data fixed the issue for them with no way to go back to the bugged state.

Clearing cache and browsing data on mobile device fixed issue immediately

Amazing the absolute stupidity of releasing this update days before the biggest event of the year. Did NO one think of holding off a week.
And yeah Chats are still down and quite obvious very little testing was involved by all the common errors you are seeing.

Login and go to raceway. Chat disappeared and is not coming back until cleaning out the cache

i’m using the torn app on iphone 13 and same problem so not just safari
Im on an iphone12 running ios 16.6.1. I can get chats temporarily if i clear cache but inevitably it disappears back to only leaving the note tab. I have tried replacing Safari with Chrome, but its exactly the same thing. Clear cache, see chats. After about 10 min gone again. Only way to get it back is clear cache, log back in, get 2 factor authentication code. 10 min later gone again. I have tried changing all of my browser settings. Nothing changes. Its a huge inconvenience because i not only have to relog into torn but every other website i use. Its not sustainable.

I play on a macbook and iphone .. this morning i had no chat on iphone just notes.
I fixed the chat by clearing my history in safari.
What did happen is that my recent notes are gone first and second tab is what i deleted maybe 1 or 2 years ago.
3rd tab got info i had on first tab. and is somewhat more recent ...april this year.
I would love to get my old tabs in notes restored.

Any reason not to pull the whole new chat back and put in the old chat until this gets figured out?
Any update or timeframe on when it will be fixed?
