Chat 2.0 - Progress update

Can we have a feature where we just don't see a certain members chats in faction chat? I would rather not see brother wicked and his buffoonery

an option for compact view (with a theme similar to the old chat 1.0 view) - the new chat system has tons of wasted space, which results in significantly lower amounts of on-screen text.

Chatting isn't about a myriad of features, the core integral part of it is the actual text. Imagine now being in some group chat, and you get to see only the past 7 messages vs 25 on the same screen. Thats the difference between 1.0 and 2.0. we've lost close to 3x the screen text real estate, which only serves to make chat more cumbersome and harder to follow,.

I'm all for people who enjoy the floaty bubbles of wasted spacing having that option, my suggestion is to not do so at the expense of everybody else who doesn't.

Not gonna lie, Ive been too lazy to install the script but looking at the chat here I'm going to take the 5 minutes out of my day and do it.

If you can select which chat is visible is even better yes.

Control/Command + click usually on a user's name usually opens in another tab. For me (Macbook + Chrome), it opens the profile both in the current tab as well as in a new tab.

It's getting a lot better compared to day 1 that was hellish
Occasionally still getting messages that come through in chunks or need a page refresh to see new messages

Another one that came to mind, I think it would be cool to scale the chat windows to preference using your mouse in the top corner to resize them (rather than relying on both the height and width sliders in the settings pane).

The height and width preferences also seem to reset each time a fix is applied to the chats, would be great if they can be saved as well

It would be great to have trustworthy chats (as they were not always in 1.0), but I am going with the sentiment of Pops here, I want to be able to use faction chat for wars and similar, and the number of messages/the info the new chats can contain renders them pretty useless for bonus hit calling or more intense periods in chat (imagine these chats used during elim for example...). Current state is also less trustworthy than previous version of chat.

1) Ability to pin chats both group chats and or chats with one individual.
2) Not sure whether this is possible, but ability to create groups for example plushies traders, war HQ etc

3) Perhaps ability or option to choose whether your own messages are highlighted. As much as I lover darkmode, my message being highlighted in a small bubble with the same roughly visuals as everyone elses' makes it hard to distinguish.

The option could be utilised by anyone that wants brighter colours and protect photosensitive or visually impaired players.

Unsure whether the main post outlines this with the wording, but with chat synchronisation will that include removing the annoying "Connecting to the server..." and chat refresh every time you switch to a new tab? Personally I use quite a few tabs and I've noticed that every time I switch tab the chat box basically f5's and reloads the log; not only that but throughout the event I've had closed chats just randomly reopen when opening a new tab (like when middle mousing an attack button to be in the loader before someone is out of hosp) the chats will reappear, and then after a couple seconds will minimise or have to be closed.

Oh, and also a way to open mini profiles in PMs, like long pressing/clicking on their profile picture; we shouldn't have to use a script for this

I believe group chats would look more clean if you could somehow manage to hide the name and profile pictures for consecutive messages ,in case one person writes 2 or more chat messages without anybody else writing something.

Apart from that, it would be nice if links would only be shown as the top level domain, while the full link is shown as a tool tip while you hover over the shown top level domain.

I don't know, i personally kinda like the profile picture in group chats.

Can we please integrate sorting offline people who were recently online at the top? Like it was in Chat 1.0

great job to everyone who works behind the scenes to make chat even better

still getting "connecting to server" on ALL the chat boxes. No communication with ANYONE since the update. I have never been able to get discord to work either is it possible this has something to do with that??

Personally, I would like to see timestamps back or an option to have them toggled on at least.
