People get busy, people go on holiday. Schedules don’t always line up with a factions enlistment etc. So, I’d like to suggest an opt-in/out for each member.

Think of it kind of like this - a sports team has a squad, and then a team is picked from that.

On the faction “rank” tab, should be a list of all the members. Next to each should be 2 tick buttons. 1 for faction members with “war” permissions to toggle, and the other the individual player can toggle. For a player to be included in the RW, both must be toggle to on.

[background color=var(--bbc-body-bg-color)]The criteria for maintaining faction strength would apply to the enlisted team. There should also be a limit of at least 80% of the faction must be included.[/background]

So what happens when more than 20% of players opt out? Whats to keep faction leaders from just dropping the weakest 20% of members every war?

Real life schedules of members are something that all factions have to account for. If, as a member, your faction wars too often, then find one that is more your speed. If, as a faction leader, you have members that are never available for wars, then either stop wars or find more active members.

Then you’d be locked from matchmaking. Similar to what happens when faction strength drops significantly now.

You seem to have missed the point. If your schedule gets in the way one week, you don’t wona leave, you just wona take a week out and not suffer recruit status for no reason. And this isn’t about members who are never available for wars.

You wouldn't be suffering recruit status for no reason, it would be because you're avoiding war. Or you could fly to another country, or pay mercs to keep you in hospital.

Regardless who this suggestion is intended for, everyone will be using it. So like I said, every faction leader will be cutting the bottom 20% every war. Then all it takes is one person popping up and marking themselves unavailable for war to throw the faction over that 20% limit, and no war for the whole faction that week. I'm also not a fan a faction leader being able to block someone from warring with the faction.

If they intended to have squads in each faction doing the warring, I can't help but think they would've included that feature from the beginning.
