Okay. Let me preface this by saying I'm not a gambler. I don't like it very much, and that leads to inexperience.

So I have a go with 10 Torn Pixels to try and get merits like High and Low. And I have to ask - does anyone know the actual odds of successfully pulling 25 in a row?

Providing you always pick the highest odds, something I might miss occasionally, can it be boiled down to a % chance?

Because I've lost next to no money on it but STILL want to brain myself over it.

I think in order to even sorta calculate it you'd have to know how often the deck shuffles. I could be wrong.

Then if the first card is a X then you have a Y chance of guessing correctly:

Since the chance of drawing x is a uniform distribution, your probability of winning a given game is the mean if the y vector (120/156 ~ 0.769). A random single draw would follow a Bernoulli(p=120/156) distribution. Therefore a game with 25 rounds would follow Binomial(n=25, p=120/156), and your chance of winning all 25 is as you say, p^25. Which would be (120/156)²⁵ ~ 0.00141715. The number of games you'd have to play to win 25 rounds in a row would follow Geometric(p~0.00141715) and as you say, you'd expect around 1/p games before you win 25 rounds.

This gives approximately 705.6 games to get the merit.

Stolen from reddit, math checks out. It might be a little bit off because of counting cards but idk how that would affect the odds. The chatGPT answer is wrong because it claims a 50% chance of winning each round while the reality is much higher.

There's a torntools setting that makes this pretty mindless and not too difficult to get.

To me 670 tries.

It's conditional.

If you have a streak of 5, you are allowed to progress naturally.

If you have a streak of 10, you will be shuffled on more often.

If you have a streak of 15, you will receive deterministic losses.

If you have a streak of 20, there is a 10 coin flip and if any given 1 is a loss, you lose.

If you are on 24, it checks your stats and if you have under 1,000 completed games it gives you a losing card.

It's honestly not that complicated.

It can be done... I did it

I just clicked the button everyday for a while and I ended up doing it before 1k games. Not sure that the % chance of getting the 25 streak is tho

Average in Torn seems to be 1-2 weeks between everyone I talked to about it so anecdotally that checks out. It's certainly not as bad as many think.

Schlefter got it right. There are no fixed odds for hi/low because the odds change every turn.

If your base card is an ace or a king the odds are 100% that you will win (if you're a rational agent).

If your base card is a seven or eight the odds of success are much lower.
