Given a little hype around these computer parts from C2.0 and their apparent usefulness in the coming crimes, I beg you:
DO NOT ADD THEM IN SHOPS
It is incredibly unfun AND hurtful to the economy to have required things for crimes be worth 3$ Let us have the fun mechanic of crimes feeding other crimes with items.
That's not how it works in practice though. If you don't have enough supply for the demand, a few people aggressively corner the market causing prices to skyrocket a thousand times higher than intended, effectively breaking the subcrimes or even entire crimes (in the case of skimmers & spray cans) for everyone.
As you already see, we've created many item faucets and item sinks in crimes to create this effect, and the intention is to remove those items from being sold in the shops once we're confident the supply is plentiful and cannot be significantly manipulated.
Let me ask you, what's the gameplay benefit if the prices of Skimmers, Spy Cameras and Spray Cans can be entirely controlled by a few people?
- I should add, there's already many dozens of lower-priority items that are entirely produced and required or consumed by crimes without any other faucet.
We'd see the required items costing millions, and most users (especially newer players) all moving over, feeling forced to do one particular crime for weeks or months, earning fortunes and leapfrogging important early gameplay, while also making a mockery of the lower regular rewards. That makes players rich, while ruining the gameplay - it doesn't provide good gameplay.
Many of the items have been removed from the shops today by the way, so the loop for them fully exists within the crimes system only - as originally intended.
If it's a quickly consumed item, I think it should be added in limited quantities to the circulation, doesn't make sense for essential items to cost multi-millions. But don't expect to make a quick profit from crime release, I think the devs have caught up to that and prevent that from happening.
They probably won't overdo it like they did with skimmers (there's millions in circulation)
But with those changes it's now either 2 things: You don't add them to a shop - worth millions now You do add them to a shop - worth a thousandth of a penny Do you see that all of those are full of potential for money making opportunities for newbies, interesting trading and fluctuations of prices, WHICH CREATES FUN GAMEPLAY
My suggestion would be to have something that ensures supply and demand are balanced - without supply going into millions or price going into millions
Think that there is lot of people that are hackers and if we need too much and too expensive crazy stuff to hack in crime 2.0 that removes a lot of part of fun for the hacking community.
faction scammers do not deserve to exist in my opinion (even if Torn rules allow them): I mean, he even stole chocolate and lollipops from the faction armory! That's unforgivable
