There seems to be some issue with the Networth calculation.
My networth shows up as 2.445B since the last reset with almost ~2b in items. However, if I actually go to my inventory, based on TornTools, it's worth ~800m.
I have gone through it multiple times over multiple days and accounting for everything in my items list, including the items which occasionally show up as NA for value, there is no reasoning for it to calculate it as 2b.
1. Have you already looked for an existing confirmed bug report on the issue you're reporting, and confirmed that it isn't listed on the 'Not a bug' thread? If you find an existing report, instead please post under it with as much detail as you can provide.
Torn Tools uses market value, which isn't the same figure used for networth calculations. Networth contribution of items is based on a hidden average value over a longer period.
Yea, it's because some of the stuff available from shoplifting was previously only available in caches. Torn uses a longer term NW calculation to prevent short term manipulation of player NWs, but it occasionally causes these sort of quirks. Also happened with weapon and armor caches when they were released.

Networth contribution of an item is a hidden value based on a long term average, not just the current Market price or "Value" shown under the description. This is done to avoid manipulation of networth. Hence it is possible for an item to have a higher/lower networth contribution than the Market value.
> scum their NW All the relevant NW medals require you to hold that NW for a relatively long time (see photo). By the time that time is up all items would be back to normal.
> and trades That is up to the trader to not get scammed since it's allowed to do so. And they can only see the market value which is significantly lower than the hidden NW contribution, so I'm unsure how they'd get scammed, and even then it'd be their fault.
Depending on what tools you used in trades at the time it would show the inflated price not the price it was selling at. 14-28 days was well within the time it took for this problem to resolve. Yes, scams are on the part of the involved parties NOT the devs, I just wanted to mention this and also suggest that the hidden value stat be changed or maybe modified for the first month or so a new item is introduced. After all this crime 2.0 stuff is done it won't matter tho ig
> it would show the inflated price not the price it was selling at That’s just a tool issue? The tool you’re talking about is probably just using the market value which is simply wrong when items crash / hike in value. It has nothing to do with the hidden NW contribution since it’s hidden and can’t influence those tools.
I dont have screens from when I saw this a while ago with I think tires or scrap but it definitely was using the hidden value. It's hidden in clear ui but I think it's accessible through api. Also im (pretty sure) it was arson warehouse that was reporting the numbers. Yeah it would be a tool issue but the tool issue was really a result of wierd values given by the hidden values at the time. Idk if they ever fixed that? Certainly was a fun time tho lol
