Assists not being counted in official chain report

I've just investigated as we had a discrepancy in the data between YATA and the official chain report from Torn.



- Sword [565990] is reported to have done 25 assists in a recent chain.

- This is confirmed in his activity log (click for image and count the rows).

BUT

- YATA says he did 26 assists (click for image).

- Sword's personal stats also say he did 26, not 25 (click for personal stats graph).

- My instinct is that YATA was wrong and the personal stats graph looks weird so it might be bugged, so I exported the underlying attack logs (click for image)

- At the bottom of the YATA logs, there are a string of three attacks on Marcinko - only two of these are reflected in Sword's activity log

- These attack logs relate to three attacks:

Two of these attacks ended in the same way (someone else hosped the victim), one of them ended as the target lost to another player.

CONCLUSION

My suspicion is only assists that end with another player ending the attack on the target count towards assists on the chain report. Attacks where the target player LOSES an attack are not counted.

The implications of this are that there is an inconsistency between chain reports, the activity log (where expended energy is actually missing!!), personal stats and the API as to what does and doesn't count as an assist.
