Anon messages bypass ignore/block checks and can still be sent back and forth. I made a report about this 2-years ago and was told it cannot be fixed without an overhaul.
You'll have to just keep reporting the sender until they get an warning for bypassing ignore or harassment.
How it was explained to me was it technically list the sender as "Anonymous" and not the original sender, so while they can manually check, the message goes from the sender, to Anonymous, then to the intended receiver. So you have to make manual reports if theyre using it to bypass a block/ignore.
This is intentional, as otherwise you could just block the person you think is sending you the anonymous mails to confirm that they're the sender. We could certainly change things if that's an issue, but it's not been a problem for many years.
I would think that the potential for continued harassment after blocking someone would be a more serious issue than the potential to identify an anon messager by guess-blocking people.
Your staff requires us to do this anyway if we make a report about it.
Infact this was the whole crux of my report about this previously.
Anonymous messages that violated harassment rules would not be enforced without revealing yourself to your harrasser by publicly blocking them per staff reply, even with this they can still bypass this block regardless and another report must be made for a warning to be given.
