Hello, when I started torn I played for like half a year actively, the path I went with was a reviver. I never chained, never did proper combat besides tiny bit of leveling and money wise, besides flying my faction did reviving war contracts. I left the game, hopped in a year later, didnt stick around and now Im back after almost another year after the last visit.

What I wanted to know, should i delete this acc and start over if i tend to change my playstyle? If not, how do I go about gaining battle stats since they are doodoo atm. Since all energy I used before was for revives. I skimmed over some of the guides, but I still havent properly commited.

Is chaining and warring fun? How time consuming is it? Bassicly Im not really sure how to continue torn journey and Id like to hear your opinions/advices.

Chaining and warring is fun but mostly it depends on your play style. There's a certain thrill in doing something together as a faction. The time sensitive part and the sense of achievement when you're successful is great too.

Starting over just to change your play style would be a waste. You can just continue from here. Focus on building stats and join a faction that does regular wars. If you don't like that then move back to reviving.

As for how time consuming they are : Any well matched war may last 3-4 days and chains depend on chain length. Unless you are chain watching you can only be active when you have enough E.. So I wouldn't say it's very time consuming.

No need to start over. Theres literaly no reason. What you should really do is head to section of forum where guides are posted and read until ur eyes bleed. Making a plan on what you gonna work towards and sticking to it will get you in competitive part of Torn real fast but you gotta read, alot....

Gl and if you have any specific questions about reviving PM, I'll gladly share some tips with you but please dont expect me to explain whole game to you, it took me months to figure stuff out and im still learning after 5+ years of playing. My worst mistake was not training regularly and quitting 2 times like you. Looking forward to your msg.

Starting over is a gamble, you'd be giving up your work stats (which are very valuable if utilized properly) and reviving merits (entire month of working in medical plus the energy) for a chance to get one or two big city finds and nothing more, there is no other benefit.

Your priorities should be renting a full Private Island (and getting a spouse who pays half the rent), earning and using 2-3 xanax every day and 25 points for daily energy refill, earning 24m monthly for a Donator Pack and always have DP active, finding a good job (get any job today, every day not spent in a job hurts you). Your current account is already set up to start earning money immediately with reviving and flying, so you can skip month(s) of wasting energy.

Last thing, read a guide, Baldr's basic advice is great afair, but anything that explains why you should always live in Private Island and when to stop using candy to train

yeah don’t start over, that's your best bet rn - you now have a head start on a day 0 account, so look at it like that and you’ll do fine

Never start over. You get merits just from playing time in Torn. Just pick what you want to do next and start going down that path.

I'd probably see if you can get in a faction that will help you happy jump.

You're level 22 and your stats are 'doodoo'... Seems about par for the course to me. Like you think anyone is going to expect a level 22 to have great stats?

Don't restart. Keep the merits you already have and enjoy them, and keep going.

-edit-... Just noticed you're only 29 revives away from the 1000 revives merit. Less than 3300 players even have that merit. In a game that's now passing 3 million registered accounts. That's a massive grind to just give up on. Knock out those last 29 revives at some point. You've already done so much and earned so much.

Restarting is usually the worst option. You gain nothing from starting over. Join a cache farm, build up some networth, read some guides and learn to play the current version of TORN.

Waring is THE ONLY THING that is fun in torn atm. Well running waring factions that is.

Especially if you build a waring faction from the ground organically.
Designing stats for your members, coach them what to train so in 3-6months they can fight at real war effectively. Noobs? No worry. That can be trained.
Designing faction armories. Limited budget? No worry. Just buy based on priorities.
Managing the faction income. Which stock to buy, sell, and when. Managing companies to run. For what purpose? CE? Stats? Etc. Managing items to flip.
All in hoping your members can make money to train properly.
Coordinating push and chain
Obsessing about their growth, their wars, and f**ktons of stuffs.

It's addicting.

Then ofc you start to wonder "uhhhmmm what else is out there? Can i build bigger than this?"

You can't put in words. Best is follow your instinct. Yes you wrote down the basic plans and spread it to entire factions. But deep down you know like billions of things to consider n tweak around.

Seriously you should try.

The only reason you'd want to start over is to be a level holder, or to get the Sports Science Lab Gym.

...or if you're crazy like me, just to start at the bottom again and work up again because of boredom.... and be a level holder. It's fun, but challenging.

Nah he’s probably one of the people who suck at gambling so they have to fly for an income. It’s a mentality, or meta, that’s very common in torn. Needs to be broken.

edit: forgot to mention gambling is a really good form of income if you know what you’re doing. Most don’t tho

Finally, someone admits that the only way to make money today is gambling.

100k from crimes is a joke. Can you even afford a Xanax to chain with the “intended” income methods we have available in game?

Your best bet is to become a slimey trader.
Cut Losses by buy mugging your supplies.

Or get lucky in the casino.

Sadness.

Don’t try this

the number of useless people who simply “cannot log in because life is hard” is ridiculous.

go handle life…. And get the hell out of my faction.

Priorities people……

Hey now. Gambling is fun, flying is not. I also get decent income from mugging. Buts that’s a flip of the coin. My daily gain for gambling is around $15mil. Give or take a couple mil. Slots and bookie are my goto. But sometimes I goto Craps or Poker when I want to waste money. The wheel is a money dump btw. Possibly rigged.
