Saw this question asked in the New Player forum but no answer yet, so I’m asking it here.

what is Reputation good for and is it worth spending point on Graffiti Crimes early on?

thanks for any help you can give here, I’ve already gone through 3 cans of spray paint so far!?!

From the wiki:

Reputation is a metric indicated by 0 - 5 stars, and is increased by successfully placing more graffiti tags in a particular area. With increased reputation more unique outcomes are unlocked, and cash rewards will become more common and lucrative. Reputation will slowly decrease over time as the city cleans up your graffiti. Some subcrimes are also unlocked through unique outcomes found in other graffiti subcrimes, unlocked at certain reputation levels.
