can anyone explain to me why my texts are in a black box but every now and then they are in a coloured box ( don't know the colour as i am colour blind ) ? Thanks.

Turns green if you have flash notifier enabled for that certain chat. Settings are in bottom right. The flash notifier turns green when a new message pops up.
